**Controversy Question Tuesday!** -What do you think are some of the first and most important things beginner rider should learn before AND while starting to ride?

how to go, stop, steer, right hand and foot placement. If buying a horse not to get something out of the riders capabilities, eg buying a $15,000 4 year old horse that is trained in the highest level (dressage, jumping ect) that has a bit of go in it that is pretty (but IS to much for the rider) instead of getting a horse that will teach them how to ride like a 20 year old that has been there done that but still gives them a challenge when needed but not getting it because it is not good looking or something pettie like that.

Abscess clarification: he's almost out of it too. He gallops in the pasture and is fine. When he he has a rider, he gimps around.

Help! My horse has an abscess. The farrier is telling us it's under his frog, therefore it can not be opened. I soak his foot in a cup of Epsom salts 2-3 times a day, and early on he had a poultice on his foot twice. Any other tips, products or ideas that may help me? I'm showing in two weeks!

Alexa
ellie has them not long ago and the vet cut up but was unable to get to it we use poultice and getting walking as much as she could it took 3 weeks for her not be lame and 3 came out

That's great about Ellie! Hope you have so much fun on that ride. :)

🍩Controversy Question Tuesday!!🍩 - What kind of feed does your horse(s) get and how much?

everything is low sugar are low starch
micrabeet
linseeds
turmeric
salt
pepper
mineral mix
lecithin
and when not in her paddock rhodes hay (2-3 bags)

why not everyone else it getting cliped

I don't have to do what everyone else does...... I have a lot better things to spend money on then that when Ellie does not need it

I've seen a lot of opinions of people on ask, so I'm gonna give mine on @everyoneonaskwholoveshorses. You're all amazing equestrians, and you are so courageous to get up on a horses back every day, and taking care of your amazing mounts. Thanks for creating an awesome equine ask community :)
