‏الأمر أشبه بنار مُتقدّةٍ هُنا، في مُنتصف الصدر، كانت تحرقُك في باديء الأمر، وكنت تتألّمُ لها، لكنّك الآن اعتدت، اعتدت هذا اللهيب، حتى صار كالسكون، سكون لكنّه موجع، وثقيل.. ‏لا تدري أجيدٌ ما آل إليه شعورك أم لا، أجيدٌ أنّك صرت ساكنًا حتى وإن كنت موجوعًا، أم أنّ اعتيادك على هذا اللهيب ينهشُ فيك من حيثُ لا تدري، أم أنّه هو الذي جعلك رحيمًا رقيقًا مِعطاءً تشعرُ بآلام النّاس وترفق بهم.. ‏لا تدري شيئًا، ولا تلوي على شيء، وليس بوسعك شيء، ولا تملك إلّا يقينًا يسيرًا تتكأُ عليه في ظلمة أيامك وشعورك، يقين بأنّ رحمة الله واسعة، وأنّ سنّة الله في الأيام أنّها دُول، وأنّ الظُلمةَ - برحمته- لن تدوم.
