No. Unfortunately for most people in my life, that is never the case. And I can, and will, explain my reasoning if I even suspect that someone at all ever wonders about it.

Is now a good time to buy a house? I know the interest rate is down but I was told the cost of materials went up. Was told $100 square foot at the beginning of the year and it’s now $130 square foot. How do I know when to build?

Now is an OK time to buy, but not ideal to build. Interest rates are low, but is an important factor in either choice. The issue for buying is that inventories are low, so choices are poorer and you aren't as likely to have as much room to negotiate. That may change in the near future if they don't extend the CARES funds for the unemployed (assuming you are in the US) or other mortgage relief. Cost to build is usually location dependent, but material cost are up, and will remain so likely until after the pandemic is over, but they are lower now than they may be in the near future.

I've spent a couple of days talking to someone on Facebook about what non-empirical evidence would be.

Never is a long time, but there are several Middle eastern countries where I am not likely to get a visa.

That's not a dichotomy. I support both law enforcement and significant reforms to the systems we use for it.
