Cake is very "one thing" kind of thing, but pie is a much broader group of foods. For dessert, chocolate cake usually wins against most pies, but if I have to give one up forever, I'd keep pies.

I am not an overly emotional person in general, but I've twice moved to different states for girlfriends I hadn't dated for very long when I was young and unencumbered.
