Do you pick and choose your friends?
I let Allah Ar-Rahman Ar-Raheem, pick them for me.

I keep all my friends and family in my duas. sometimes we neglect them in our lives, by not meeting up with them, or not keeping in contact with them. the most important thing is, that we should never neglect them in our dua's (The term is derived from an Arabic word meaning to 'call out' or to 'summon', and Muslims regard this as a profound act of worship. The Islamic prophet Muhammad is reported to have said "Dua is the very essence of worship," while one of God's commands expressed through the Quran is for them to call out to Him.)
I like to put my life on pause, sometimes, because I need the time and space to reflect, and grow as a person. I am a pensive, person, yes, and I am eternally grateful for the friends who respect my space and cherish me for my growth, talents, and success. it's pretty great, that I can count on my friends, and more so, my family, when I need help.
I strongly believe in this quote, "Some people say home is where you come from. But I think it's a place you need to find, like it's scattered and you pick pieces of it up along the way."
also, your mother is a home. after all, she carried you in her womb for nine months.
I like to take away qualities and characteristics from the people that I can come home to; and I use them to better myself, as a daughter, as a student, and as a muslimah.
the friends that have chosen me to be their friends (thank you, guys! love ya long time, kay), are such sweet, beautiful, caring, nurturing, patient, talented, kind, strong, encouraging, supportive, forgiving loveable, fun, firm, good-natured, mature, independent people. I am honoured, so honoured, to be considered a friend of humans like these. I cherish them.
sometimes in life, we ask ourselves, "why?"
some things in life aren't meant to be explained, they are meant to be accepted. self-acceptance is based on you. society can't control the way you view yourself, only you can.
I accept my friends for who they are, and they've accepted me for who I am, as well. for that, I am extremely humbled and grateful. a parent replied to my email this morning,
"Those how-to's are precious, I love them and I know my girls will too. We will miss your joyful presence on IG but I encourage your strength and desire to focus. You are creating a beautiful thing, your life! I admire your choice and support it whole heartedly 💗 Thank you so much for your sweetness and support of my girls. I am looking forward to seeing more of you! Bless you sweet Nurul."
and I cried. I cried tears of gratitude, of course. alhamdulillah, thank you God, for placing every hardship and struggle in my life, because I can truly appreciate the pace of life that You have given me now.
