Can you explain (in layman’s terms) the definition of ‘Confidence’ and what separates it from ‘Arrogance’?

It has been argued that confidence stems from a sensible sense of self-worth while arrogance could be defined as an exaggerated sense of importance. Confident people can be rather endearing, generous and lighthearted but arrogant creatures rarely possess lofty attributes and they can emit a negative energy which is best avoided. Confidence smiles. Arrogance smirks.

confidence: being happy, satisfied with something about yourself (or yourself as a whole) and not feeling a need to bring others down to prove or show others that you are confident in yourself
arrogance: viewing yourself as superior to others in any/every way, more deserving than others, and that you are inherently worth more, your thoughts/opinions/feelings/beliefs are more important than everyone else’s (and anyone who disagrees is plain wrong and stupid); ultimately treating anyone you feel as inferior to yourself (or just everyone around you) with little to no respect ; or respect for their boundaries
