Do you think that reclaiming terms which have been used as insults (queer, sissy as examples) is empowering or disempowering?
Personally I think it’s empowering.. not to back down to insults like that but to somewhat embrace it.
They’re still used as insults now a days which is sad.
But it won’t be an insult anymore if it’s embraced and I think it’s our way of saying ‘what’s the point in calling us it, if we use those labels ourselves’
