To be honest you do allot for the fans. It is crazy to me how you do Toonami and the podcast and don't profit from it at all. Thank you.

Thank YOU!

One of the first press releases for adult swim(I collect oddball [as] and Toonami stuff) said an episode of ATHF or Sealab 2021 cost around 60K per episode. Has that risen dramatically 14 years later for Aqua Teen?

Yes.

Is there a group/song that you didn't like when you were young but now like/appreciate?

I hated disco when I was young, I love it now. The Bee Gees would be a good example.

Do you think the social impact of rock music is dead? Will it ever come back? Do you know any good rock bands out today?

I think the social impact of rock is definitely dead. I don't think it will ever come back, nor do I think it needs to. I've been less into rock in the last two years or so, so I doubt I'd be able to point you to any bands you haven't already heard of. If you want, though, scroll down a page or two in my asks, I answered a similar question a day or two ago and left a few band names.

Was the "Too Many Cooks" video really trying to do a social commentary?

I dunno, ask Chris Kelly. He's on Twitter.

So I listened to Young Lean but I don't get what type of emotion his style is supposed to invoke, can you explain it to me? I mean it feels more like emotionally distanced music.

First of all, not ALL music exists simply to evoke emotion. But, taking your question at face value, I'd say Yung Lean's main emotional wheelhouse is melancholy. Wistfulness, ennui, the daily and vague sadness that we all feel sometimes when we aren't necessarily Unhappy, we're just floating along and feeling the kind of pain of being alive. It's not OH GOD I'M SAD, I'M ANGRY, I'M HAPPY music, it's "I'm kind of all three at once, fuck it" music. You either get it or you don't. *shrug*

Don't you think you should leave open the option to submit questions and ideas for the Toonami podcast through tumblr open, instead trying to move it all to facebook? I'm sure there's some people who don't want to make a facebook account; Maybe we can use a header for our tumblr submission posts?

Nobody's stopping people from going to the tumblr, but right now Facebook is a new platform that reaches more people, and we want to focus on that and grow it. We'll still be looking at the Tumblr every day, nothing sent there will be wasted!

So what don't you like about Childish Gambino? I mean 3005 was pretty good.

He's boring to me. He's not a bad "rapper," but he's not very good, either, and in terms of his sound and his mood he's just doing stuff other people are doing in much more interesting ways right now. I don't believe him, I kinda don't know any better way to say it than that. I WILL say he's slowly improving with every release, and it wouldn't surprise me at all if he eventually slots into something I find compelling. I'd be very happy if and when that happens.

MIDNIGHT MARAUDERS or LOW END THEORY?

UGH such a tough question! For me, I think Low End Theory is a slightly more solid record. It's such a cohesive document, so brilliantly executed, it's kind of untouchable. Midnight Marauders is amazing but if I absolutely had to choose, I'd go Low End. Many would disagree, though.

I was surprised when you said on this week's Preflight that Attack On Titan hadn't performed up to ratings expectations on its initial run. Any further thoughts on that?

I was talking about the rerun, not the initial run, sorry if I wasn't clear.

Even with the shorted schedule, is it still possible that Toonami could still air hour long OVAs series.

It's possible!

Why are you airing "Attack on Titan" instead of "Cowboy Bebop" HD after getting back the rights to air the show and get the HD tapes as well? Cowboy Bebop HD did not finish its run before the block was shortened. You even mentioned that you would try to air it after Deadman Wonderland ended.

Why? WHYYY??? Whyyyyyyyyy!!!!

Why do you do the podcast of you don't make money off them?

To promote Toonami! And it's fun. And people don't always do things for money. Which should be obvious.

can you recommend me some bands like Sleep? i've been on the search for more like them but can't find much

Kyuss, Sleep, Cathedral, Acid King, Electric Wizard, Orange Goblin, Sons of Otis, and more recently, Thou.

I know you recommend not yet mainstream rappers to fans but can you recommend some bands that you like that most people have likely never heard of?

Dunno about "never heard of" but some bands I like that aren't huge are: Eagulls, Torche, Lightning Bolt, Liturgy, Obnox, Sick Feeling, Temples, Ty Segall, Viet Cong, Wand, Wizard Rifle.

What's the point of listing to someones music if they are dead.

The entire point of creating art is that the person who made it can live beyond their mortal lifespan through their work. Jimi Hendrix is dead and I listen to him. etc etc. This is a fairly obvious thing to grasp, I think.
