What's the best advice your father ever gave you ?
I consider myself one of the luckiest people when it come to how great my Dad was. His advice was not any specific thing, but more just teaching me by example with his "way". Dad was the kindest and gentlest man I have ever met, and this trait of his was profoundly life effecting for me. In a world where "men are men" and "men don't cry" and are "hard and tough"...I had a sensitive Dad who showed that you can be a great man and still cry and show emotion. I have been forever changed for the good with his kind and gentle ways. "You get more flies with honey than you do with vinegar", he used to say. His words and ways generally helped him, especially when dealing with difficult people. He still had a firmness and a line he could draw if he had too, he was never a push over. But most often he got what he felt was fair with his generosity of heart, and his easy ways. I wish I could see him again and enjoy his company . What a gift he gave me.
