Lol I don't buy liquor very often, since I don't really drink. It's the law to ask for ID, so I'm always carded. Hmm... On one hand, I wouldn't have to find my ID to buy stuff, but on the other hand, if they don't ask then everyone'll know I'm expired :(

How important is free speech to you? Consider the political issue you care about most: if you could make the opposite opinion illegal to hold (or at least very socially unacceptable to hold), would you do it, or is it important that people are free to voice disagreement even on that?

Very important. Many people in positions of power get a bit loopy, especially if they go unchallenged for too long. There are no guarantees in life (except that we'll all die), what's right today may be wrong tomorrow, and vice versa. If no one is allowed to question what's accepted, we'd never learn anything new, and we'd potentially miss something that could be of great help or danger to someone. Although, many people don't learn anything new anyway, because they're so set in their ways and opinions that they just ignore opposing views. Or, they only use what's good about their side to argue only the bad about the other side. :/

I have a dream journal, and make feeble attempts to update every few months. I try to write whatever I dreamt about, because sometimes it's interesting to revisit them and maybe look for certain recurring themes, but really it's more for entertainment value.

For the most part, yeah. If the accent is really pronounced and they speak really fast, then I might have a little trouble here and there.

What happened in your last dream? Recently had one that was a mixture of Harry Potter and the Wizard of Oz. You?

I was walking through a forest, ( wearing a purple dress :s ) looking for a good picnic spot. When I got there, there was a sunny patch that was sooo pretty with flowers of all different colors! It was gorgeous! There was a small waterfall, and the water was sparkly :D
So, I found soft spot on the ground to lay a quilt and put the picnic basket down. The person I was waiting for came out from beyond the trees and he had an adorable puppy with him. We hugged and cheek kissed and walked over to the picnic area. We ate, talked, played with the puppy, it was really nice.
Once it got dark and the moon was out, we remembered there was supposed to be an eclipse. So as we were lying down to wait for the lunar eclipse, the puppy fell asleep between us (aww!) and we held hands as we waited and watched :)

Oooh that's a tough one. On one hand, the state is still responsible for their well-being. On the other hand, they are making the choice to starve themselves...
I really don't have an answer for this.
The prisons in California are severely overcrowded. The way the state planned to fix the issue, was by releasing thousands of prisoners back into society. There was an uproar and people were concerned for their safety, but of course the state will only release those prisoners who are no longer a threat to society.
I remember reading about a young man (I don't recall his name) who kidnapped, sexually assaulted, and murdered little boys. He was caught and received extensive therapy for about 30 years (approx.). His doctors deemed him no longer a threat, and gave him his first day pass. He spent his day kidnapping, sexually assaulting, and murdering a little girl.
My personal opinion is that there is no way of knowing for certain who is or isn't a threat. And as awful as it sounds, I'd rather the state let those prisoners starve (since it was their choice to do so), so that not as many prisoners would be released. :(
