I was bullied a lot as a kid, especially at home and in secondary school.
As an autistic person I was a very easy target , and a lot of the time I didn’t really understand.
People who bully obviously have issues themselves, ie being abused at home. But tbh, I don’t care. I was abused at home severely for many years till I ran away, I was taught racist, homophobic, sexist, transphobic things but I never ever turn out to be any of those things and I never turned out to be a bully or an abuser so I don’t care there is no excuse. I don’t feel pity for the people who made me suicidal as a child and as an adult 🥱🥱
Bullies. Ha, where to begin...
I was bullied throughout school. Rarely violently, just practical jokes where I was the butt of the joke. My stuff got thrown out of the window/graffitied/destroyed. My lunch spat on, or thrown on the floor because I had the wrong bag/coat/interests...
Sentimental things were broken too.
I digress. Bullies are bad juju. They are folks who have something that they can’t deal with, so they take it out on the world. Or they’re looking for validation, so they pick a scapegoat so they aren’t abused.
There is no defence for bullying. Anyone who says otherwise is a bully.
It must be ingrained into the future generations that it is unacceptable and needs to be punishable by law, not just settled with violence or a meeting at school with some authority figure who probably has a soft spot because they’ve spoken to the bully before countless times.
