Because u pick the wrong shorts? U should really know ur body an pick the shorts that flatter your body. Don't just pick up a random one. And if u really feel like u don't look good, just work out. It's up to you to change urself, not other people

it is a cruel world and tbh, i was like you bfore. and u know what i found out? not to give a fuck what other people say. you dont need to have people around u to be who you are. as long as you love yourself, its fine. and heres the truth. unless u love urself and comfy about who you are, people arent going to be around u. personally, after i got my shit together, i had many people who loved me and enjoyed my company around me. it was like i attracted those people. so stop self pitying yourself and get up, wipe off the dirt, and get your shit together. yeah im sounding harsh, but unless you learn to accept the world and its reality, you are guna have a difficult time growing stronger each time something pushes you down.
