I'm okay at security stuffz - mostly a result of having a dad who was very on top of it (early adopter of home PCs, like during the MSDOS days, so a fair degree of technical knowledge, coupled with being a part of an industry that takes cybersecurity very, very seriously).

Any time I reuse a password for two applications, or think about being too lazy to take a system image on new system, or think about signing into something through Google or some other large site, I can just imagine him worrying.

I've had one thing hacked in my life (Steam account - got it back after a day or two and submitting evidence, but it was protected by a lazy password). When I was 18, someone from across the country apparently tried and failed to steal my identity (tried to take out credit cards in my name; bank stopped him), so that was a little harrowing.

I think of cybersecurity kind of like I think of wearing a seat belt: 99.99% of the time, you can be dumb and it won't matter, but that 0.01% of the time, whether or not your life gets ruined depends on small, important choices that it's easy to get in the habit of making bad decisions with.

it's been about 4 days since i started using Kali Linux so I'm still a beginner in it but i learned some nice few stuff so far, how did i start, i want to study everything related to cybersecurity and since Kali was designed by Offensive Security for advanced penetration testing; i had to start learning how to use it. i wanted to hack this hecking world from a long time >:3 lol jk i just thought i really should start getting familiar with kali and learning how to use its tools. i can't recommend you anything since i only used linux mint (for like 2 days lmao) and kali, but since you're interested in hacking then go for kali and check a book called "Kali revealed" to get start with kali it's really useful, linux mint is the closest to Windows and kali feels like an Android device no joke xD (idk if you that or not but Android is built on a linux kernel so it's not surprising :3 ). before i started using kali i thought using it it's like solving mysteries and stuff xD, yet it's not easy but not as hard as i thought (thanks to Google and youtube xD) understanding it will take some good amount of time but it's not ultra hard, it's just really hard hahahahahaha xD
but yeah in general it's awesome, like i installed it on a 100GB partition and it's fast, when my laptop is on sleep and wake it up it starts immediately, booting time is less than Windows and the shutdown time is waaay faster
so yeah it's really cool as an OS, if you dont use Microsoft programs like Powerpoint and Word and such stuff; you should make it your main OS and you gonna like it, Kali or linux in general
