My horse and I have been having trouble landing on the correct lead lately. We used to be just fine, and now it seems like she picks up the wrong lead after every jump. She doesn't know changes yet. How can I fix/improve this? Any tips/exercises?

Maybe one side is weaker than the other so shes favouring it? Try doing a lot of straightness work or changing lead over a pole or jump

Does anyone know any eventing barns around southern Illinois? The closest I can find is college level so that sucks Missouri and Indiana and maybe Kentucky are optional, I'm able to travel 2-3 hrs away from home

After a bunch of kicking and smacking her she went on the path. But she threw her head and turned around when we reached the field. I KNOW she isn't scared of it, I walk her by hand up there ally the time. And she went on to the hacking field in camp with no problems. She's being a little shit. CONT

There is a path at the side of the indoor, it's probably 50 feet long. It leads the the hacking field. She isn't scared of it, just being a little shit. I kicked her and smacked her with a crop and she ended up walking up the path. She usually throws a fit the first 10 or so feet of the path CON'D

I was going to hack my horse today and I have walked her out in the hacking field before and I ride her once out there with my trainer in a summer camp thing. When I try and go with friends on a hack she throws her head and turns around. She won't even walk the path. CONTINUED...

I was warming up in the ring (at a show) and asked my horse to canter. She bucked and reared.It was near the end of a busy show day. I asked normally. She was in heat a couple of days before, she wasn't lame. I'm just confused on why she would do that, she has never done that before.

Probably that she was just super tired and bothered by having to work all day so she got sassy i my guess! She just didn't want to work anymore!

I like this guy, we're neighbours and we used to be really close when we were little but we grew up and now we stopped talking. We used to watch movies together, etc i just wanna be mates with him again. Idk how to be friends again. I deleted his number & cant find any of his social media help? :(

How can I build up confidence to be able to canter without freaking out ? Pretty much everytime I transition into the canter, I still tense up and get nervous. I also tend to rely on the horses mouth to keep me balanced. Advice to stop doing this?

I would canter like a billion circles until you're so tired that you can't even think about being nervous! Or try doing transitions from the trot to canter so you can get your mind thinking of something else! When i was younger i remember being scared to canter but once you canter for a couple minutes straight you get used to it ?

This is random, but what do you think the price range for someones first horse should be?

So my horse has mud fever (scratches) and she needs to be kept inside. She's been in for 2 weeks and I come out everyday And exercise and graze her where it's not muddy. I feel like I should be doing more. Any suggestions?

Well you usually can still ride them when they have mud fever just soak the infected area and scratch off all the scabbiness and then lace it with MTG within max a week the skin should be improved ??

Not much he usually gets only hay unless i really work him ?
