Do you think we have a duty towards our ancestors to have children?
Another tough one! The choice to have kids must lie with each person and I certainly don't think there is any need for pressure to have kids - after all there are plenty of kids out there already born in need of good, safe and loving homes!
In terms of duty as a human I feel that is more towards future generations to ensure they have a world that they can actually live a decent quality of life in. At the moment we as humans are failing the kids we collectively have already bought into this world on many counts. Many kids still experience poverty, abuse, neglect and huge trauma on a scale that is unacceptable. And this is before we even look at our huge environmental crisis which looms in the not to distant future unless we make big changes.
If we want our ancestors to be proud then I'd argue addressing these things should also satisfy any duty we may have to them 🤷♀️
