When was the last time you felt nervous and for what? How did it go? šŸ˜¬šŸ¤ž

TobbeAsksā€™s Profile PhotoTobbe
I was quite nervous making phone calls today regarding my health insurance. But I think it went pretty good? I did get some interesting, but also somewhat conflicting information, which was confusing. šŸ„“
However, Iā€™m proud of myself for making phone calls the way I do currently. And that Iā€™ve made so much progress to where I can go into them with way more confidence (despite feeling internally nervous) than Iā€™ve had previously, be able to ask questions, advocate for myself, etc.
Also, Iā€™m just trying to remain hopeful that things are going to work out okay, and Iā€™m gonna get through this, instead of freaking myself out prematurely, overthinking, and so on, which I have a tendency to do. ā˜ŗļøšŸ¤žšŸ¼

Are the flowers fake? Yes. Did I still find them pretty enough to take a picture of? Also, yes. šŸ˜ŒšŸ¤

You think parents teach the kids about sex the right way or the wrong way?

theartist58910ā€™s Profile Photothe artist
I mean, it absolutely depends on the parents. Some do it right, some donā€™t, some do the best they can based on the education they got, etc. Itā€™s hard to make a broad conclusion about it, given itā€™s likely different for everyone. And if you factor in peopleā€™s beliefs, ranging from cultural, to religious, etc, thereā€™s gonna be even bigger differences. Since I can only speak about it personally, I will do that.
When it comes to my parents approach, it wasnā€™t bad by any means, but it surely wasnā€™t likeā€¦ an open conversation. My mom used to tell me to ask questions about it if I was curious, and my dad didnā€™t really talk about it at all. šŸ¤·šŸ¼ā€ā™€ļø
The younger versions of me, who wasnā€™t even aware of what asexuality was or that there was a term for it, was curious. But not about s*x itself. I was more curious why I didnā€™t care about it at all, and why just the mere thought of s*x in regards to myself, made me uncomfortable. šŸ˜… I was told a lot that itā€™s normal not to feel anything at first, you just have to ā€œmeet the right personā€ or ā€œhit a certain ageā€ and all of a sudden, youā€™ll feel it. But I didnā€™t. And that is something I wish I was taught. That not wanting s*x isnā€™t abnormal, nor does it mean something is fundamentally wrong with me or my body (as asexuality has nothing to do with hormones or your body functioning, itā€™s attraction based).
Iā€™m not a parent myself, but if I ever were to have kids, Iā€™d want them to have a good s*x education, and know that they not only can ask me questions, but also, that they can have open conversation with me about it. Thereā€™s no shame, no guilt, no taboos around it, itā€™s a totally normal thing to be curious about (or not), talk about, etc. And also, teach them firm boundaries that they are in charge of what they do with their bodies, and not to let anyone guilt, or coerce them into it if itā€™s not what they want. And thatā€™s what I believe is the right way to teach kids about s*x. ā˜ŗļø

Is spring kicking into high gear where you live? How's that making you feel? šŸŒ»šŸŒæ

TobbeAsksā€™s Profile PhotoTobbe
Itā€™s definitely getting to that point around here! Itā€™s been pretty rainy, but the temperatures have honestly been fairly consistent! Like within a 10 degree margin usually. The trees have begun blooming, and thereā€™s a lot of really beautiful flowers out and about. Iā€™ve even seen bumblebees flying around in my backyard. šŸ˜
I absolutely love the fact that itā€™s changing, and when itā€™s not raining, itā€™s sunny and blue skies. Makes me feel so motivated and just happy in general! Iā€™m very much looking forward to getting outside more often, and hopefully having more energy to do things! ā˜ŗļø

How is your day going? šŸ’–

Today hasnā€™t been too interesting so far. Only thing that was a minor inconvenience is there was a power outage in my area for almost 2 hours this morning.
I am looking forward to tonight though, as Iā€™m gonna go spend time with my grandma, probably get some food as well. Also, itā€™s a really pretty day outside, so that makes me happy. ā˜ŗļø

Are you more of a saver or a spender? šŸ’° šŸ˜‡

Iā€™m more of a saverā€¦ But I really like spending money though. I have to control myself and rationally think about things Iā€™m buying, cause Iā€™d likely just impulse buy things and not even blink if I didnā€™t stop myself and go ā€œBut, do you NEED this right now?ā€ šŸ™ˆšŸ˜¬

If you were thrown into a professional kitchen and were expected to cook, do you think you'd be able to keep up? šŸ”ŖšŸ”„(Inspired by this year's student musical I was part of)

TobbeAsksā€™s Profile PhotoTobbe
Absolutely not! šŸ˜‚ Iā€™d be so overwhelmed and stressed out trying to keep up, and I think Iā€™d have A LOT of angry people that are waiting for way too long.
Also, Iā€™m not a good enough cook to make consistent, good quality food, especially on a time limit and when thatā€™s not my sole focus. šŸ˜… I sometimes struggle with multitasking and staying on track anyways, my brain just doesnā€™t process things that fast. Iā€™d honestly be worried Iā€™d undercook foods and make people sick or something. šŸ˜³

How well do you think you understand yourself?

iWillSpamYouAskā€™s Profile PhotoSpam Ask
I feel like I understand myself fairly well in certain ways, but thereā€™s a good amount Iā€™m still unsure ofā€¦ I spent a lot of my time growing up, suppressing aspects of myself or my personality, and/or erasing them all together cause I didnā€™t think people liked it (I was a big time people pleaser), thought I was weird, embarrassing, annoying, etc. šŸ„“
So, while Iā€™m not a blank slate anymore, and definitely know a more of who I am now than I ever did, I think I still have a long way to go. And I donā€™t particularly think thatā€™s bad. Weā€™re always learning new things, or realizing other aspects of ourselves that we may not have known were there.
Now, I think itā€™s fun to grow into myself more and more. Iā€™ve gained confidence that way, and Iā€™m getting more comfortable being myself in various situations I may not have been, even a few years ago. Itā€™s been a very healthy change for me to allow myself to just be vulnerable sometimes, and let people see the so called ā€œhalf-bakedā€ parts of me that Iā€™m still learning about. ā˜ŗļø

How good would you say you are at singing? šŸ¤”šŸ˜

TobbeAsksā€™s Profile PhotoTobbe
Iā€™m bad at singing. šŸ˜‚ Like Iā€™ve had my moments where I think I sound decent but when Iā€™ve been recorded singing and such, I get my reality checkā€¦ I have videos of me singing along to songs andā€¦ well letā€™s just say, itā€™s rather hard to listen to. I donā€™t sound anywhere near decent. šŸ™‰šŸ˜‚

Mm, let's say you've met an alien, how would your beliefs change? What would you choose to believe from the information given by the media? šŸ¤ÆšŸŒŒ

M1ssSemyā€™s Profile PhotoStar. i
I mean, Iā€™ve basically always been of the belief that there is some other life form out there anyways, whether itā€™s aliens or something else. So my beliefs wouldnā€™t be changing all that much, I guess it would just be like ā€œah so I guess it was aliens after all.ā€ šŸ‘½
And it would maybe make me a little less skeptical of some of the ā€œufo sightingsā€ and such thatā€™s on the news/peopleā€™s claimsā€¦ Cause like, Iā€™m well aware people can and do stage convincing looking videos and photoshop stuff, but some of the stories that have never been ā€œdebunkedā€ could definitely seem more legitimate in my mind. And meeting an alien might make me stop and go ā€œhuh, well that makes sense now.ā€ šŸ¤”
Butā€¦ I donā€™t know. Thereā€™s always gonna be skepticism on peopleā€™s claims no matter what. Like, even if you say you have proof, people at large, are still not gonna give you the benefit of the doubt that you really met an alien. So while itā€™d allow me to believe a little more, Iā€™d probably not press the issue with it, nor would I want the attention of saying I met one. When it comes to that topic, Iā€™m not at all interested in trying to prove myself or my beliefs to anyone. šŸ¤·šŸ¼ā€ā™€ļø

Would you rather call yourself a landlubber šŸ¦€ or a fish in the water? šŸŸ How do you feel about being near / in the water? What about being underwater? šŸ˜¶

TobbeAsksā€™s Profile PhotoTobbe
Can I say Iā€™m a bit of both?
Like, hereā€™s the thingā€¦ Iā€™ll call myself a landlubber in the sense that I spend much of my time on land, and donā€™t tend to have many opportunities to be in water. BUTā€¦ on the other hand, any chance I do get to be in/around water, etc, I run to that. So, maybe I could say Iā€™m a landlubber with fish in the water tendencies? Does that work? šŸ˜œšŸ˜‚
I love being in water, I love looking at it, taking pictures of it, you name it. Iā€™m not the best at swimming/going under anymore as itā€™s been a long time since Iā€™ve done it, but I think that would go away if I got back into it, and with some practice. But I can say that as a child, going underwater was my favorite thing to do. I loved to do flips. šŸ˜
