Do you think Magic 2015 is worth buying/playing? Either way, I like the new thumbnail. So many diamonds!
I personally don't think it's worth bothering with, but we go over a lot of details about it in the first published episode (121) if you're interested.
Nick. What kind of upload speed does someone need to be able to stream on twitch from your experience?
I was able to get away with at terrible 700 bitrate for the last year. Probably shoot for something like 3mb up at minimum since other things will grab bandwidth too and you can set like 2mb for your bitrate. Things should look alright. I'm pretty happy with 5 up. I can potentially stream at 1080p with a 3500 bitrate. This won't matter for most viewers though so just 720 is fine.
How often do you read comments? And would you ever consider turning them off if they got out of hand like they did for some other YouTubers?
I still try to read 100% of my comments but I feel like some just never show up in my feed. I'd be very unlikely to ever turn comments off. Things would have to get very ugly for a long time. I really value discussion a lot.
Remember when you Cut together 365 days of indie impressions videos into one video? Why do you not add onto that every year for 69 years.
That video was really, really time consuming to make. It did fairly well at first, but after it was around for a week it just flatlined. I don't think I could put in another month of crunching files in editing for a 2nd one. I would actually like to though if that wasn't an issue.
I'm sure Dan (Nerd Cubed) would be a hilarious guest who would mesh well with our sense of humor. There's a bunch of people though who I'd love a chance to hang out with. I still wish we followed through and had DJ Flula on, that guy is really funny and quite musical.
Would you ever collaborate with YouTubers outside of your normal (and incredibly awesome) group for more exposure? An example would be someone like Pewdiepie.
Sure, why wouldn't I? I'm not really afraid that it would lead to anything about me changing no matter who I work with. I would be very fortunate to work with someone like that.
What three things in life you want more than anything else?
A nice lady who likes me, a secure place to live and a kitty.
How to fight sleep deprivation? I've been told to throw my PC away, but there's no way that is going to happen any time soon haha.
I'm the wrong person to ask... my sleep schedule is really, really broken and I don't even think I can sort it out anymore. I might try sleeping pills at some point but that's just me. Sorry.
I've been ordering the "Mexican Pizza" from Taco Bell mostly every time I go there (which admittedly isn't terribly often) over the last 15 or so years. I also really enjoy the KFC "Famous Bowl" and the Wendy's "Bacon Deluxe" burger.
How often do you play the guitar, and what other instruments would you like to learn?
It can vary but usually once every few days. Depends how much free time I end up with. As far as other instruments I'd like to learn... I thought I wanted to learn some violin but that feeling just kinda evaporated unfortunately. I think I'm good on music for the moment.
Would you ever consider writing video game articles for sites like Kotaku?
Yeah, I haven't ruled out the possibility of something like that in the future if YouTube and Twitch end up not making ends meet.
Meh, been better (but also been worse). Trying to keep myself busy mostly.
What's your idea of a romantic date?
The classic dinner out generally feels the most "right" but there's about a million other things that could also be great. A movie, a concert, a night together playing games or just even a random deep conversation can actually be pretty romantic in the right context.
