What's the scariest thing that has ever happened to you?

The one that took me the longest to recover from was getting into a car accident. I was soooo hard on myself (as it was technically my fault) and it haunted me for a long time. After the accident, I didn’t drive, or even sit behind the wheel for almost 2 years.
To put a positive spin on it though, I learned a lot from it, and I’m a lot better now than I was. And, I did get back into driving eventually! The only lingering effect is I still have a lot of anxiety when it comes to driving alone. 😅

Do you watch Twitch streamers? If so, who?

I watch Twitch all the time, actually! It’s one of my all time favorite platforms next to Youtube. I’ll list the people I watch regularly… Not gonna lie, most of the streamers I watch, play Dead By Daylight, so you’ll notice a pattern pretty quickly. 😆
(John Wolfe) plays DBD almost exclusively, and he does charity streams a few times a year.
(Puppers) one of the first DBD streamers I watched on Twitch…Unfortunately, he can’t play for himself anymore as he has ALS. But he still streams it with a friend of his!
(Kimmykims) plays a variety of puzzle games as well as DBD, and then she does art streams fairly often.
(pixl_pit) they play a variety of games as well like House Flipper, the Sims 4, Satisfactory,
Animal Crossing, etc…
(Tokki) she’s exclusively a DBD streamer and she’s also a Fog Whisperer!

I hug the friends that like hugs! To be honest, a lot of my friends aren’t super physically affectionate. Which is totally fine, I respect their boundaries… However, it is a little hard for me to suppress my affectionate side, cause I truly love hugs. So, anytime I get to see my more affectionate friends, I always hug them! 🤗

I’d go back and experience the entirety of Cosmetology school again. I got to meet so many incredible people, and the atmosphere was unlike any I’ve ever been in. I truly felt like the happiest and most confident version of myself during my time there. 🙂

Ever watched Veronica Mars? What did you think?

Yes! I actually binge-watched it like 3 or 4 years ago now. I don’t wanna say too much about it, in case anyone still plans on watching it, but I enjoyed it, for the most part… Though, it’s not on my rewatch list. It was kind of a “fun while it lasted” experience for me.

I’m not one for total spontaneity, sadly. I swear, I think I was born a planner 😅 It’s almost therapeutic for me to create a plan for whatever it is I’m doing…
Like, I’ll plan for anything and everything, whether that’s what I’m having for dinner, a creative project, a haircut, or even a conversation I want to have with someone. It doesn’t matter.
If I’m traveling, I always keep a list of what I want to do on the trip, what I absolutely have to bring with me, and if I have to make any preparations prior to getting to my destination (for restaurants, hotels, events, transportation, etc).
And then, if I’m feeling over-the-top, I’ll make a detailed itinerary of all the little things I want to do/see/experience while I’m there. 😁

Do you like staying indoors a lot or being outside a lot ☺️

I like a balance of both, I would say. I am content to be indoors for a while, and I’m also content to like go explore nature or explore the city, or something. But doing too much of either can make me a little stir crazy.

Yes, I do, more often than I’d like to admit. Honestly, I do it cause my anxiety spikes if I don’t. Also, I like to have a general consensus of what I’m gonna say beforehand, so people actually know what I’m talking about, and I’m not stumbling over my words.

How do you like your nails?

Well, pre-pandemic, I used to have them professionally done. I had acrylics for like 3 years or so. Then, once the pandemic hit, I started doing them myself and now that’s pretty how I keep them. I use the fake ones you just glue on, but I think they look good, regardless!

I haven’t noticed very many, where I am. Might be more than normal depending on the region, but I’m not sure.

Any advice on healing?

I’m gonna be vague here, as I don’t know your situation.
But this is what has helped me in healing…
1. Don’t rush through your situation to make the world feel better.
2. Healing takes time. A lot of time. It’s an ongoing process, and sometimes it doesn’t even have an end date. And more importantly, it doesn’t need to. Don’t put that type of pressure on yourself.
3. Your heart and mind are just too valuable to not take care of. You don’t have to pretend to be okay to please other people who are uncomfortable with your sadness. Take as much time as you need.
4. Try not to bottle things up, as hard as it is. Let yourself feel what you need to feel.
5. Lean on people you trust. Journal. Cry. Vent. Go out in nature. Meditate. Bake. Breathe. Do things that soothe you.
6. It’s important to understand, even if it doesn’t get easier, it gets lighter, the more you heal. You grow from every step you take, even if it’s small.
Finally, I’m so sorry if you’re hurting. I hope this helps in some small way. I wish you the best of luck and all the healing you need! 💕

Are you an optimist or pessimist?

I would like to think I’m fairly optimistic. Like, not in an unrealistic way, but I do try to see the good in most things, and enjoy the little things in life that make me happy!

Name 5 people or things you are currently grateful for

In no particular order…
🏡 My basic needs being met, and this will always be on my list. I have the immense privilege of having access to food, clean water, shelter, clothing, etc…
👩‍👧My mom, whose basically been my sole caregiver and my number one advocate for the last few years, and has sacrificed sooo much to help me out and be there for me in any way she can.
👥 My friends, old and new, for being a constant in my life… For their advice, compassion, loyalty, understanding, and encouragement. They all inspire me!
💪🏼 My body, for fighting so hard all these years, despite how many times I gave up on caring for it (I’m still learning how to fully appreciate my body and not resent it).
💊 My medications, as they’ve kept my health at least stable enough to not need too much medical intervention and most importantly, being free of hospitalization for the last 9 years.

How often do you tell the people you talk to that you’re grateful for them?

Fairly often, actually! I think it’s always nice to let people know you appreciate them. I know saying it too much can be slightly annoying so I try to make sure I don’t go overboard. But I truly do find that telling people that they are important to me every now and then, goes a long way. 🙂
