I'm prepared for the hate..
I'm honestly ok with it as it is. Most people who don't support the system we currently have in place don't actually know how it works or what it entails & quite frankly know nothing about guns in general so I find it rather absurd how opinionated they get about it. It's not just some situation where any random person can walk into a store & buy a gun with no ID, background check, or safety precautions. It's simply not that easy. Aside from that, regardless of whether we should or shouldn't be allowed to protect ourselves from whatever, the more illegal you make something the harder it is for everyday citizens to get access to it but it literally does nothing for criminals so the point is still null??? I recently watched a video where a guy set up a booth with guns on display & had a "petition" he was trying to get pro gun control people to sign. It was all a mock thing & he just wanted to see how much pro gun control advocates really know about guns & what the "common sense gun control" they want to pass would entail. The people who stopped by the booth were literally the most uneducated people I have ever seen (when it comes to the subject of guns at least). One of the question they were asked was "Which of these do you think should be legal & which should be illegal?" They all mentioned that the ones with wood on them should be ok because they're just hunting rifles while the all black "scary looking ones" should be illegal because those are dangerous. One of the ones with the wood piece on it was the most dangerous weapon on the table &, if I remember correctly, could kill a bear with a single shot while all the solid black ones were your average run of the mill rifle. Or they'd try to say that Gun A is ok but Gun B shouldn't be legal & then say that the ammo for Gun B looked fine but the ammo for Gun A looked too big. WTF people. Then there were the ones who were like "yeah it's totally ok as long as you use it just for protection at home" so the guy told them that the gun control law they're advocating was saying that the guns had to be stored unloaded, in a safe within a safe, with the ammo elsewhere in the house. Because if you're using the gun purely for protection, that setup makes total sense. A guy breaks into my house, "hold up, sir, I just need to go grab my equipment from all 8 places around my house so that I can fully protect myself!". If you're that uncomfortable being around guns, guns aren't the issue-- you are. You were raised in an atmosphere that taught you to be afraid of an inanimate object. My version of gun control is teaching functional members of society how to use a gun properly. Should they choose to ever use one again is up to them, but every functional member of society should have to take a class where they learn to use a gun, as well as learn some basic facts about guns-- like the fact that the AR in AR-15 doesn't stand for assault rifle. Don't preach about what you don't understand.

I think if I go that much into the depths of my mind you'll probably want to just turn and walk away, haha. But yeah, so I'm in my last semester of university, working toward a degree in psychology so I can become an academic advisor. An academic advisor (for those who don't know what they are) is basically a person who works in colleges/universities to help students figure out what career path they want to take, what major would be best for them, what classes they need to take both for their general education requirements and their major requirements, etc. I picked that because I was 3-3.5 years into a 4 year degree and still didn't know what I wanted to do but realized that I'd gotten this far into school without any help from an academic advisor and had actually done everything according to the book so I figured if I can figure it out for myself, and I like helping people and kinda guiding them, maybe this would be a good field. Anyway. I'm sure you're also aware that I'm in a long distance relationship. We've been together for 3 years as of September 10. We met online totally by accident (as in we weren't looking for a relationship and it wasn't a dating website) and met in person for the first time about 4 months later. I have a dog; dogs are also my favorite pet because they're amazing. I'm such a night owl; I usually go to bed around 2 am at the earliest despite having to wake up at all times of morning depending on the day. I'm moody and I can be a really unpleasant bitch to people, especially when I'm tired/annoyed. I lack the motivation to do anything in my life so I pretty much just sit around and do nothing until something absolutely HAS to be done. I often think about the issues I have and how I got to be where I'm at in life right now. Sometimes it kind of spirals out of control lol. I also suck at pointing out the positives about myself so I swear I'm not totally bitter and negative and unpleasant all the time??

No. It might be a different story if I had friends who were more.. friendly.. when it comes to that type of situation but as it stands it was a deal breaker in regards to friendship for me because of how my "friends" reacted to my boyfriend when they met him. I'm totally okay with them not liking him and I'd have been more than willing to hear them out but if they're willing to respect my decisions regardless of their own feelings about it then it doesn't matter to me what they think of my SO. With my current boyfriend, one friend actually got mad at me because I didn't run to her first and tell her that I was in a relationship (like I mean legit got mad, not like a "omg why didn't you tell me?!" kind of thing). Then when they met him they totally ignored him for the entire period we were all together, also kind of ignoring me while they were at it, and put me in a wicked awkward position because I was trying to make everyone feel included to I was bouncing back and forth between two different groups of people. It was a horrible experience and I actually haven't seen one of them since that day while the other one I just recently reconnected with after about 2 years of not seeing her at all. But honestly if I had really good friends who didn't like my boyfriend even a little I'd want to hear them out but in the end I would tell them it's my decision and if I end up getting hurt then it's entirely my fault and they have every right to tell me "I told you so!".

I would never let my child do such a thing. That isn't cute at all and it's allowing your child to grow up thinking that it's totally okay and "just cute" to steal. If my child, or any child really, were to do something like that and I saw them I would say something. If it's my child or a child I'm supervising I would take the stolen things out of their pockets and explain to them that stealing isn't okay. If they do it again I would try something a little stricter. If it's someone else's child and they're out and about in public I would probably tell the parent. If the parent does nothing or doesn't care, depending on the stolen item, I would alert store staff so that at least they can handle it and potentially request the parent pay for the stolen item should the parent try to write it off as cute or funny. At that point it'd be totally up to the store though so if they choose to ignore it or agree that it's "cute", that's their loss.
