Do you think a romantic relationship can help a person to grow as an individual? Why / why not?

Of course! I think that whenever you get into a romantic relationship you learn something new about yourself, even if you've been in multiple other relationships. Of course, these new pieces of information you learn about yourself aren't necessarily always positive and therefore don't necessarily always help you grow as an individual, but I do think that it at least opens your eyes to new things about yourself that you can then find ways of changing if need be. Getting into this 'perfect' relationship that ends up ending seemingly out of nowhere can help you learn how to handle breakups, heartbreak, loss, etc., getting into an abusive relationship can help you learn just how strong you are as an individual, getting into a relationship with someone who has their differences from you but you love to death nonetheless can help you learn how to work with another person to make your partnership work. Every relationship can teach you something that can help you grow.

Lindsey Lee Wells: Do you live your life by a set routine or do you take each day as it comes?

I prefer to live them as they come, but because of school and whatnot this semester I'm kind of stuck in a fairly set routine for now :/
I mean, it's not like a minute by minute routine, but my weeks are all essentially identical for the most part. I suppose in a sense my weekends are taken day by day since I never really do anything specific then, but I'd still consider routine since I never do anything new.

Do you believe 'looking pretty' and 'feeling pretty' have any connections? As in, a person only feels pretty when they look good on the outside?

ilovcandii’s Profile Photo☾Lє Kαяıиe⠀ ⠀ ⠀♥ ⠀⠀♥ ⠀⠀♥ ⠀⠀♥
To an extent, sure. I don't think that ALL of the potential connections between the two imply that a person can only feel pretty when they look good externally, but I do feel that in some instances they are connected and/or even the same thing. Some women feel prettier with makeup and look prettier with makeup, which seems connected to me.. But other women feel some excessive need to wear more than enough makeup just to feel pretty, yet when you look at them they look ridiculous. So yeah, in some cases there are connections. Maybe some women want to fit the standard of 'external beauty' and once they reach those standards they are happy, but we all know that most women aren't happy with how they look no matter how 'perfect' their appearances are so I don't think those two really have all that many connections.

When I was little my aunt would sit on my legs and tickle my bare feet. Its horrible when they get your socks off and start scratching the bottoms of your feet, I cringe thinking of what it was like. Did anyone ever tickle you like this or worse when you were little or even now?

I'm pretty sure everyone has been tickled before.. Why are people here on ask so obsessed with feet and/or tickling?

Quentin Jacobsen: How good are you at you at solving puzzles?

Depends on the puzzle! Like, for example, I'm good at word searches and sudoku, but ask me to put a Rubix cube properly or do a crossword puzzle and I'm probably stumped. More 'common sense' or follow the clues type puzzles I enjoy but I can't say that I'm any good at them, mostly because I can't think of a time where I did anything like that off the top of my head.

Takumi Hikohito: What are some of your favorite phrases to use on a daily basis?

Quite frankly, if I have any favorites I cannot remember them for the life of me.

Alaska Young: How much control do you have over your emotions and their effect on you? (This concludes my John Green spam. I hope you guys loved them. Thanks for being so lovely ♡)

Not nearly as much as I would like. I think I'm pretty good at controlling them externally, especially when around people I'm not familiar or comfortable with. Internally, I can go from a raging volcano to a streaming waterfall over the tiniest of things. But around people like my boyfriend, even if I were to try and hide it (which I generally don't), he can spot my emotions faster than you'd believe. My mom is the same way, but I think I'm better at hiding it from her mostly because I often don't want to get into the nitty gritty with her. My emotions' effect on me, I think, is what causes people like my boyfriend and my mom to notice that something is wrong. When I'm mad, you can hear it in my voice, see it in my actions and my posture, and it's completely impossible to ignore the change in my manner of speech. So basically, I have pretty good control around strangers or not so close friends/family, but otherwise I have like zero control. Either that or the people close to me have some kind of mood/emotion detecting superpower :p

Miles "Pudge" Halter: How difficult is it for you to let things go? Do you think you get too attached or do you tend to keep your distance?

I would say that I generally find things really hard to let go of. I don't really think it's a matter of me not being able to let go of things so much as sometimes I just ruminate over things because I either don't know how to let it go or I don't want to let it go. When it comes to relationships, or what could turn into a relationship eventually, I get pretty attached pretty quickly-- although no one besides me would ever know it. As for friendships, I think I tend to keep my distance. I'm not sure why I do that, maybe because I'm just not so good at making friends so to avoid coming off weird or 'unfriendable' I just kinda keep a certain distance between myself and someone new.

Lara Buterskaya: Tell me a story about one of your most embarrassing moments.

Oh my gosh. So I was a sophomore in my very first ever AP course and we had to do a group presentation within the first few weeks of the school year starting. I forgot what this presentation was on but all I remember saying was something about Egypt, something along the lines of 'now, we all know Egypt is in the Middle East, so...'.
Just a friendly PSA guys, Egypt is actually in Africa. *facepalm*
Also, when I was in middle school, one time I went to this birthday party and while there, another friend of mine invited me to her house for a sleepover but I had to ask my mom first. So I called the house phone and as soon as I heard the voice say 'hello?' I speedily rambled on: 'Mom I'm at Tiffany's party and Haley just asked if I could spend the night and I know it's last minute but I really wanna go and I don't really even need anything from home I can just go with what I have on me please mom is that okay please please please?' The lady on the other end kindly let me finish and then said, 'honey, I'm not your mom.. But I'm sure she'll let you go!' I know she couldn't see me or anything but boy was I embarrassed! :p

The Colonel: What's the weirdest drink or food combination you love or would be daring enough to try?

When I was younger, my cousin and I would eat Cinnamon Toast Crunch cereal with Ranch dressing as dip.. I think that's prettttyyyy weird. Aside from that when I was younger, I don't think there's anything strange that I like. I'm not too daring with food now so I can't say there are any weird food combinations I'd be willing to try now.

Margo Roth Spiegelman: When you go on vacation, do you usually tell people you'll be away or do you go in secret?

I tell my closest friends and maybe close family but I don't post it all over social media for example. I don't feel that everyone needs to know before I even leave. I post pictures when I get back though so they all end up finding out anyway :p

Have you ever considered how fragile you are as a human? Like yikes.

Not really. I mean yes, we are fragile, but do you realize how much we can handle? Humans are crazy strong in multiple ways. Our mental strength is ridiculous; we're the most intelligent creatures out there and people who go through trauma or just something that can take a toll on them after a while can still survive and not go totally insane. Physically speaking, we might not have the most intense strength but did you know it takes 2 tons of pressure to break a human bone (I believe it's the femur specifically)? Our bodies can handle crazy diseases and come through, despite potential weakness and other side effects. So yeah, we're fragile in the sense that we can die and we're not immortal, but really we aren't all that fragile when you think about it.

Do you remember me by my username or photo? Or how do you remember anyone on ask at all? :-)

I remember you by both, but most people I remember by their name because they change their pictures so much or have similar pictures to other users :p

All aboard the bandwagon! Because I've been wanting to, I'm going to be sending out some questions inspired by characters from books by my favorite author, John Green!! You don't have to be familiar with his work. Also, if you don't want them, let me know and I won't send them to you. Okay? Okay.

Ohhh these themed spams are lovely! You guys are all so creative c:
Please include me! :3

I thought I'd jump on the bandwagon, so I'll be sending out spam inspired by post in the next few moments. Any questions that you don't want to answer, please feel free to delete!!

Is there anyone you hate at the moment?

ImmortalTorture’s Profile PhotoBANƎ
Nope! I don't hate anyone as far as I know :p
I strongly dislike a few people but I have no reason to hate anyone yet. There are a few people well on their way to being hated, but I have no reason to hate them yet :p

Envelopes - When was the last time you received a handwritten letter? When was the last time you sent one?

origamibirds’s Profile Phototea.
Uhh, I think for our anniversary? Or maybe it was Valentine's day of last year. I don't remember, I just know my boyfriend sent a little letter with some gift that he sent me. I'm actually not sure about the last letter I sent.. I feel like I might have sent one to him as well, but I can't say for sure. I know I sent one to my grandparents a while back that my mom included in her Christmas package to them one year but I can't say that was the last one I wrote / sent.

Parcels - What's the best present that you have ever given to anyone else? What's the best present you've ever given to yourself?

origamibirds’s Profile Phototea.
I made my parents a nice little scrapbook for Christmas one year, and I bought them a brand new stereo that same year. I also handmade a cute little picture book for me and my boyfriend's 1 year anniversary.
As for what I've given myself.. I'm not too sure. I don't think I've ever really given myself anything super nice. I bought myself my first iPod but I think I used money I'd received for Christmas so I don't even know about that. I gave myself the gift of weight loss when I was a senior in high school, if that counts? :p
I lost like 25 pounds or something like that in a 5 month time frame.

Which type of music do you not understand or rather dislike?

In regards to not understanding, I can't ever seem to fully catch what they're saying without looking up the lyrics in most genres, but anything outside of pop or country is pretty much a definite no understanding. As far as disliking music, I like something from every genre as far as I know, but screamo is god awful. Aside from that I can't think of anything else that I full out dislike.

Controversial Spam: Do you believe that religion/spirituality and science can both be used to explain how the world works and other unknowns? Or do you believe that science holds all the answers while religion is a “fairytale”? What makes you so sure?

Well, I'm atheist so I don't believe in a god at all and therefore I find it kind of hard to believe that religion or spirituality can work with science to explain how the world works. I don't necessarily believe that I'm right, but I can't bring myself to believe in a religion or a god so I just don't see how they could ever work together. I'm not sure at all of my beliefs so I can't very well explain what makes me so sure, but I think that the mere fact that science has come so far and proven (or disproven) so much helps my point a little bit more I suppose. I wouldn't go as far as saying that science holds ALL the answers (or any for that matter) or that religion is a 'fairytale', but I do feel that science holds more of a skeleton key to all the answers, whereas religion (assuming it has any validity to it) is only like the key to the front door of the house of secrets but all the rooms in the house remain locked.
