I suppose you can't. I also wonder how many of us just never learned the right names for various shades of color too though. For example, my mom and I call certain shades of green or blue different things and she's always so shocked that I "don't know what it is". I wonder if we even see the same thing, but she wonders why I never learned those more specific color names in school. Maybe we're both right.
I certainly try to be! 😂 I'm not too terrible at it but I also don't go wildly overboard in my efforts either. Like I'm not one of those extreme couponers and I don't shop at thrift stores or anything but I always go for deals and I use everything I can to get all the discounts I can. I learned from the best though!
I guess you could argue that, but in my opinion "describing" something means to describe it in such a way that someone who can't see (or has another relevant sense that doesn't work) can still understand. As an example, if you told me the sunset you saw today was "indescribable", it would mean nothing to me here because I don't know what you saw. It could've been the most beautiful sunset the world has ever seen, yes, but it could also have been an average sunset and you just really like sunsets, therefore making this one "indescribable".
It was suggested to me recently that high school classrooms should be set to a temperature a little cooler than is comfortable - both to keep minds more alert and so dress code polices itself :) What do you think of this idea? What temperature is ideal to you - is it different when you're working?
I could go for that. I always prefer it to be colder over warmer so it would be more comfortable for me in the long run. Plus I like to bundle up! My only issue is bundling up makes me feel so cozy that I might not be paying attention too well-- same goes for if it gets too cold (regardless of bundling). Too cold is similar to too warm, it makes it hard to focus. I would be in favor of it for the dress code thing. I've seen high school girls (when I was in school, not now that I'm that complaining old lady going on about short shorts and whatnots) with skirts so short their butt was basically sitting on the chair unclothed. Like they couldn't even sit comfortably with legs closed because it was still too revealing. So keeping the temperatures a little cooler might prompt people, including guys in some cases, to wear more appropriate clothing. A- idea in my opinion. I'm not sure about work; I would say it depends on what the job is. For example, if I work somewhere that requires an active and upbeat 6-9 hours, I wouldn't want a warmer temperature on the thermostat!
How politically engaged are you?Do you vote?Do you campaign regarding your beliefs? (I don't need to know them!) Why not have a go at The Political Compass. The test shows you where you stand beyond just "left" & "right" and compares you with historical figures. https://www.politicalcompass.org/test
Not very in all honesty. I don't vote, and probably will continue to not do so until I find someone actually worth voting for. I don't campaign at all. I will share my views here and there, mostly on Facebook or if someone asks. According to this test I'm in the same quadrant as Friedman, who, naturally, is the one I know least about lol and I'm more or less halfway between Friedman and Ghandi on the left/right line.
You know, not to be rude, Adam, but what's the point in asking questions that are answered in my bio already? I won't go any more specific than what's in my bio/FAQ unless otherwise specified and/or not quite so personal (i.e. favorite tv shows). Your profile appears rather new so I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and assume you are in fact new. In the meantime, here's your answer:
Thank you! Since you've sent this, I'll use it as the perfect forum to post the link to my opinions page. Should anyone have any more non-question opinions, feel free to send them here: https://sayat.me/AmericanLass !
Do you know anyone who constantly says " you know what I'm sayin"?
Not that I can think of, but I do know a lot of people who use the "you know?" at the end of a sentence.
Literally my life right now. But I guess more specifically, the fact that I'm not going on a little getaway with my boyfriend this summer. I predicted that that would happen, it always does, but it's still a huge letdown because I was really flipping excited about both of the possible trip ideas.
what's the most amount of money you've spent in one sitting? what did you spend it on?
Probably like ~$300ish for a plane ticket? I can't think of much else I spend large amounts of money on and any large purchases are usually bundle purchases off Amazon or something where everyone in my family gets something and chips in so we get free shipping xD
I believe my first full alcoholic beverage was probably some peach something from Texas Roadhouse. But the first alcoholic drink I tried was a dark beer, don't know the name/brand, and it was terrible.
I have a date tonight and I'm taking her to a fancy restaurant. When's the last time you went to a fancy restaurant??
Oh have fun! I can't say I've ever been to a legit fancy restaurant. I'm not that cool with spending that much money on a meal! Especially knowing that most fancy restaurants probably charge a lot more for a lot less 😅
(STAIF) I'm often unsure of how many out of you 50 to send questions to, and usually just pick about 20, so I'm just sending this to everyone to say feel free to let me know if you don't want them (or let me know that you do!) - I don't want to bother anybody :-) all the best - Doug
Whats the strangest or most unnecessary kitchen gadget that you have seen advertised or in person? Whats the strangest kitchen gadget you or someone in your household owns?
Probably most anything that does the most basic tasks for the user, like "apple slicers" that literally just slice the apple for you in "one swift chop" or something like that. So unnecessary when you can easily do it yourself. I can't think of anything dumb or unnecessary that anyone in my house owns. We don't tend to buy silly gadgets.
I have been shocked but never electrocuted and never from an electrical outlet.
Do you like other people buying you clothes?
Only if I get a say in what's purchased! I don't mind people buying me things like pjs or those fuzzy socks as a Christmas gift but anything else would most likely need to be picked out and/or tried on by me prior to purchasing.
Would you rather choose a high paid office job or a low paid adventurous job?
So my boyfriend's sister has been a total bitch towards me today for literally zero reason and I have no idea why. It's seriously pissing me off. I have been nothing but nice to her, tolerant of her opinions despite the fact that she literally never fact checks anything and 9/10 times ends up being wrong, etc. and she went out of her way to pull a severe attitude on me. Two can play that game, sister. Two can definitely play that game.
