I thought that by this time in my life, I'd...

...be dead, but here my crazy self is. LOL
Forty was a huge milestone for me. I question how much further I'll make it, but I'm a stubborn one, so we'll see.

How do men understand ‘romance’?

I'm not entirely sure they do. I'm not a man, though, so feel free to ask one and let me know. They seem to think women are hard to figure out, but I think they're pretty challenging too.

Do you think you get more mature by getting older?

Some people definitely don't. They're still childish. >:-P
As for me, I've always been an old soul, but I am without a doubt more mature today than I was 25 years ago. I've learned an awful lot of life lessons, about myself and about others. Heck, I'm still learning.

Is the screen of your phone big enough?

I'm vision-impaired, so not really. I try to use a laptop when I can, and most pages are zoomed in. (Here's a screenshot.)

Are you celebrating Halloween today? Share your mood on @askfm!

I have no plans to celebrate Halloween this year. As for my mood, I'm broke and tired. Have a good day.

Tell me about your flaws ?

I don't keep a list handy. I just know I have plenty of flaws, like the rest of humanity does. Besides, what may be a flaw to you may not be a flaw to me, and vice versa. What is it that you want to know?

where are you from ?

My profile states that I'm on the U.S. Gulf Coast. I'm centrally located, and I've lived within an hour of my place of birth all my life.

What would be your immediate action after experiencing a paranormal activity at your place? ☠

Knowing me, I would fuss about it, then do nothing. I guess if my safety was at risk, I would have to report it to someone (not sure who?) or leave. I have a lot of friends and family who believe in the paranormal, but I'm not normally superstitious, so I tend to stay somewhat neutral about things like this.

Well haven't you considered the slightest that perhaps, maybe what you believe in was wrong, or maybe your religion was not correct? Because I can assure you that there is only one God and he's out there and there are many evidences. Also, there's nothing difficult to God.

OF COURSE it was wrong. That's why I resigned and have attempted to claim whatever peace and hope and quality of life I can find outside of the garbage I was fed by abusive, paranoid charismatics. And I said I believe in him, so you're preaching to the choir here. God is perfectly capable of doing what he wants. I didn't say he couldn't. I said he chooses not to. God is not a genie in a bottle waiting to give me what I want if I rub him the right way. That's a terrible metaphor, but that's what far too many people believe. It's outrageous to say a child born with Muscular Dystrophy would be healed if only they or their parents were living the right religion.
It's clear that you don't know me, and I see no evidence of actual empathy in your words, so I'm not going to defend myself against a stranger's assumptions of who or what I am. I don't like religious debates in person, nor on the internet. Thanks again for the prayers, though, if you bother. Goodnight and God bless.

God is able to erase tour pain and give your your health back

I never had my health to begin with. I didn't acquire pain and disability through lack of faith or whatever it is you believe of me. I was born with systemic disease. I've been sick and in pain since early childhood. I grew up deeply religious and devoted every day to serving God and believing in his words. The result was manipulation, neglect, attempted trafficking, homelessness, victim-blaming, PTSD, and more abuse than I will ever be willing to speak of. My God-filled upbringing made my life far worse than it should have been, and has quite possibly ruined me. And yet, I carry on, and I still choose to believe he exists. I don't know why, but I still do.
I appreciate that you believe things can get better, but I won't be accused of bringing my pain on myself or inviting bad things to happen to me because I don't pray hard enough or I sin too much or I don't have enough faith. Those kind of ableist statements, among many others, were shoved down my throat and used to physically, sexually, mentally, and emotionally harm me for many years. There will never be enough medical treatment to cure me from the permanent effects of that trauma. Religious abuse is real. I wish it wasn't, but it very much is.
I'm not fussing at you or accusing you of anything. I'm only explaining that my illnesses have been a lifelong problem caused by genetics, and if God wanted to heal me when I was on my face before him on a daily basis for three decades, he could have. He chose not to, and I will not take a single thread of blame for that ever again as long as I live.
Thank you for your thoughts and prayers.

Would you rather age from the neck up or te neck down only?

People tell me my face looks younger than my age, but without a doubt, the rest of my body is much, much older.

Whats the one thing you want from the world ?

Security, I guess. I have this crazy idea that people have a basic human right to health and safety. Unfortunately, that's not the way the world is. I'm sick and tired of being sick and tired, and I'm more disheartened every day by the suffering of innocent people. I wish things could change, but life has never been known for being fair. I get that, but I can't accept it.

What is your idea of perfect relaxation?

Being pain free in a peaceful place breathing deeply and dreaming lovely dreams

How to get rid of bedbugs in the room?

It's time to replace the mattress. Regardless, you want to clean and sanitize everything that can possibly be cleaned and sanitized in your bedroom, and then do so on a regular basis.
However, the issue of bed bugs is more complex than that. You have to be careful not to harm yourself with chemicals or pesticides. You live and breathe in the room, so what you expose yourself to must be carefully considered. Here is a lot more information: https://www.epa.gov/bedbugs/do-it-yourself-bed-bug-control

A line from your favorite song

I have about 300 favorite songs :-) but ok:
"You're a candle in the window on a cold, dark winter's night."

Do you use planner to keep yourself or your days organised?

I really should (there's an idea!) but I don't. I sometimes make to-do lists on my kitchen chalkboard or on my computer, which is sort of like a planner, I guess. I no longer work, so I'm not as organized as I used to be.

What is something you have always wanted to try?

Making ceramic pottery on a wheel
Ice skating
Being a disc jockey (80s radio, preferably)
Animated voice acting
Publishing a book
Opening an orphanage
