What will you do with Christmas?

I'll spend Christmas with my stepfather. My mother (his wife) died this year, so it will be the first Christmas without her. He's the nicest man in the world, he raised me, and I vow to never let him spend the holidays alone so he is either coming to my house or I am going to his.

What is the very last thing you do before you settle in to fall asleep at night?

Turn on my iTunes "lullaby" playlist (it's a variety of ballads).

Who is the funniest person you know?

I thought Robin Williams was the best...I absolutely adored him. :( I know a lot of funny people, but I'll say my nieces because they have the most animated little personalities. They crack me up. My friends' little boy Jacob is hilarious too - quite possibly the funniest kid I've ever met.

If you were going to get a tattoo, what would it be and where?

Either a Celtic cross or a TARDIS on my bad leg (where there is nerve damage, so it would hurt less).

Do you like your name?

Yes I do. Kelli is Gaelic (Ceallaigh) and means "warrior". Nicole is French and means "the people's victory". I think it's a strong name, although I was named after a paper doll my mom had as a child...no kidding. Interestingly, I am both Celtic and French by cultural origin, so that part worked out nicely.
(I also have German, Choctaw, and various UK roots, so I'm quite the cornucopia anyhow).

If you have friends coming over, what would you cook?

Yay a food question! I try to consult with them first, or at least ask them if they are okay with what I was planning to cook. If they are up for anything, I'd probably make gumbo or shrimp & grits, or my awesome slow cooked baby back ribs, or pot roast, or bacon cheeseburgers, or taco pie, or something Mediterranean...gosh I can't decide. I love food. What would YOU like me to cook?

Are you ticklish?

I discovered the other day when I was having my face painted (at an art bazaar) that my lips are extremely ticklish, which was quite a funny moment. However, I live with severe chronic pain so the rest of me hurts too much to be ticklish. Nothing makes me freak out faster than someone trying to tickle me...I positively LOATHE IT. I'm not a mean person, but I'll threaten to punch somebody in a heartbeat for touching me without permission (gentle hugs excluded...I need those).

How was the Scottish music festival?

I am so sad to report that I was too ill to attend. Very very disappointed! :(

What's the most awkward thing you can say in an elevator?

Okay, I have a story. LOL
I was once stuck in an elevator with a large group of people after a concert. I tried to break the terrified silence by joking "Gosh, this is going to be very bad for my bladder." NOBODY LAUGHED. I was like fine, I won't quit my day job. Sheesh...tough crowd!
So, I told everybody to stay calm and I recommended trying to go back down instead of up because I assumed that we were too heavy. I pushed the button for the floor below us and it worked. We got the hell off the elevator safe and sound. You're welcome, people with no sense of humor.

How do you prefer to be awakened up in the morning?

I assume by "morning", you mean 11:59AM. And somebody better have a darn good reason for waking me up.
Examples: tornado coming toward the house; Publisher's Clearing House at the door; niece is in town and wants her Aunt Kel; fire; flood; earthquake (that one is debatable)...
LET ME SLEEP.

What meal was so good that you can't forget it?

A friend treated me to a four course dinner at The Melting Pot last Friday. Cheese fondue, salad, French Quarter entree, and chocolate fondue. It was an unforgettable experience.

First three songs in your favorite playlist?

I Won't Give Up by Jason Mraz
Set The Night To Music by Roberta Flack and Maxi Priest
Love Will Keep Us Alive by The Eagles

How do you think the world will look in 100 years?

I imagine it will be even more computerized, which may be good in some cases, but detrimental to others. I'd like to think there will be a new form of personal transportation, whether it is more electric cars or some other source of power. I'd also like to believe that racism and xenophobia will be a thing of the past by then. Wishful thinking, probably, but it's a nice thought.

What advice would you give a person coming to live in your country?

Do whatever you have to do to stay safe and healthy, because it only takes one illness or incident to bankrupt you thanks to a capitalist medical care system.

At what age did you kiss for the first time?

I was 14 and it was hilariously awful. I cringe over the very thought of it.

What’s on your mind?

Relative having surgery tomorrow, I'm tired, I'm sick, I'm sick and tired of being sick and tired, worried about my car which needs repair, worried about medication costs, worried about running out of money before the end of the month, wondering how I'm going to be able to afford my upcoming doc appointments, wishing I could get more accomplished on my to-do list but I'm too sick at the moment.
