Im really really saddened by the fact that a mainstay of my childhood, ATHF, is coming to an end this Summer. I guess after 14 years as a loyal fan you dont stay a kid...im a grown adult now. Anyways RIP and thanks a million for the laughs.

Just re-started season 6 of Mad Men. Is it bad that Roger Sterling might be my favorite or at least one of the most interesting characters to me? I also find his character likable even if he tends to be a self-centered jackass a lot.

Just finished watching the knick! It was incredible and exhausting to watch all rolled into one. Can't wait to see season 2! What did you think of the season as a whole?
I enjoyed it very much. Great performances, fascinating characters, wonderful music, beautifully shot and edited, and totally cohesive. Can't wait for season two, season one was one of my top five shows last year.
Trying to major in ComputerSci, but just failed my final Calculus2 exam. Gonna have to repeat both this and my Java coding class. I think there are some bad dubs out there. There are also a lot of good ones. I think there's a misconception by some anime fans that a dub is a less "true" translation, which of course is nonsense. But if your only information about a subject is gleaned through the internet, and not through trusted friends and real life experience, you're bound to have some skewed perceptions. Dubs are neither inherently good or bad, they just are. It's all about the care put into them, like any translation.

My friend is dating this girl who I know for a fact is cheating on him with other guys and even some girls. The poor guy is so gullible and belives her lies, everybody knows the thruth but him its almost painful to watch. He may not believe me Should I risk telling the poor guy?
I think this depends on how close you are with this friend. And of course, whether your information is accurate. If this is a good friend of yours, and the info is accurate, you should tell him. If you don't know him very well, or if you aren't 100% sure of your information, it gets a lot murkier. I generally try not to get involved in other people's relationships unless one of the folks involved is a good friend. You never know the full truth of what is happening between to people. Whatever you decide, good luck!

I feel really disconnected from my community. There's no place for me: no meaningful work, no educational opportunity. It's a place in Florida where the super rich go to retire. There's no concern for the future here, just obsession with ostentation and hoarding wealth, but I've never lived elsewher
If you're of age, I'd say it's time to move somewhere else. If you aren't, bide you time until you are and try somewhere you like more. FYI, from my experience, there IS no one place that has a concern for the future. Not in any country I've been to, anyway. Good luck.
How do you feel about someone like Roman Polanski, who has made very significant contributions to film with his work but is also a completely awful human being?
Predictably, I feel very conflicted. I love CHINATOWN but I do feel he's guilt of some pretty gross crimes, and has unjustly evaded punishment. There are so many artists who may be despicable people but make amazing art, and I think the metric for dealing with this dichotomy is different for everyone. For me, it's pretty clear: if, when absorbing their work (be that a book, song, film, etc), I can't help but see the bad things about the artist reflected in the work, I generally just let it go and stop engaging with it. Great work isn't aways made by great people; nor does it need to be. Picasso was by all accounts a shit of a human being, but I don't always think of that when I see his work. With Polanski... I think of his crimes when I watch some of his films, but not CHINATOWN. Yet.
