I totally get you. There's many songs that I really enjoy just the sound of and sometimes my one friend like will condemn one that I like because of the lyrics, which I potentially hadn't even paid full attention to. Isn't that annoying?

Christmas brings back allot of painful memories for me of how my father never loved me or gave me christmas presents and my mom tried but could never afford to get me anything and christmas, christmas or birthdays didn't exist in my house. Every christmas these memories of come back to me? advice?

I know a lot about that, actually. What I have chosen to do is to make Christmas my own, and create a space with my friends and family that is what *I* always wanted Christmas to be. If you don't find that within your grasp, I would say I know a lot of other people who just leave the country or go somewhere and change up the scenery and have a vacation instead! Either way, I'm sorry and good luck.

I know you're a fan of Spooky Black but are you a fan of his earlier stuff like the Forest Mixtape that he made? Way different style than what he has now.

Yeah but I like the newer stuff a bit better.

Whats Hawaii like ?

It's just amazing. Temperate weather, not as humid as other isles I've been to. The waves are massive and the ocean is totally wild and gorgeous. It's very mountainous, and the volcanoes are amazing. There are many little inlets where the snorkeling is great. And of course, there's good food everywhere. It's a paradise, in short.

How do you get into the holiday spirit?

Well, we have a tree trimming party the day after Thanksgiving, we also have certain foods and recipes we make every year around this time, and we also are doing a LEGO advent calendar.

I have unusually large nostrils and I get so nervous that everyone is looking at my nostrils and it makes me feel bad. Every once in a while someone would say something or crack a joke and I would shrug it off in the moment but it eats away at me. Ever had a similar situation? Advice?

I haven't dealt with anything like that and I'm sorry. All I can say is I promise, everyone is NOT looking at you. And if you don't think someone joking about it is cool, don't hesitate to tell them "not funny." If they don't like that, fuck em. It's YOUR face. Sorry I can't offer more. Good luck!

"I don't care about lyrics, for the most part." wait what? I mean I get there's music to just vibe to and all, but like, lyrics are what give meaning and lyrics help people's lives.

To YOU. Not to everyone else. The beauty of music is that it can convey a mood or a feeling with or WITHOUT words. And the "meaning" and resonance is that which you ascribe to it. Open your brain.

What do you think about the concept of "remixing" music?

I think a good remix is a rare and beautiful thing. I'm really only interested in remixes that fundamentally alter the original song and bring something new to the table. Same goes for cover versions.

Why was Cartoon Network weird in how it aired the .hack franchise? .hack//SIGN had a brief stint on Toonami before moving to SVES, .hack//Legend of the Twilight premiered at 1:30 AM Friday nights, and .hack//roots premiered at 5 AM Saturday mornings with 5 episodes unaired. Why play shows that way?

Well, I'm not sure why you would expect me to know the answer to this question. I wasn't responsible for CN acquiring .hack, in fact I didn't like the show and had it been my decision, we wouldn't have aired it in the first place. Beyond that, most of the time when a show gets shuffled around like that, it's because it isn't doing well in the ratings. That happens to a lot of under-performers. It even happened to my own show, IGPX, so it's certainly not a matter of CN just "liking" one show more than others. Anyway, that was a long time ago, so I'm just gonna move on! I suggest you do the same. ;)

Were there any shows that the Toonami crew themselves had to edit? If so, which ones?

Yes, we edited all of the Gundams we aired, as well as the Tenchis, Outlaw Star, Blue Submarine No. 6, and others.

How crucial is music to a film (score, soundtrack)? Do you think that music can make or break a movie?

Sound is 50% of your experience when watching a film, so I think it's incredibly important. A great film can be brought lower by a mediocre score, just as it can be lifted to even greater heights by an amazing score.

Who, in your humble opinion, would make up the current Big 4 of Thrash now that the real Big 4 have been of questionable quality in recent years? Can include both older and newer bands.

Well I think Slayer is still making great music so I wouldn't take them out. Otherwise, I don't think there is a new "big four," but some bands making thrash (or thrash-ish) I like include: Municipal Waste, Toxic Holocaust, Ringworm, Skeletonwitch, Gama Bomb, and Lich King, of course. ;)
