If you had the chance to bring back 1 cool memory from uni ...what was it ?

When I was studying in high school and university, every autumn all students had to travel to north and central Slovakia for 3 week-brigade to collect potatoes or hops from fields 😁. So when I was 21, we lived there, 7 girls in one room, and in the evening we were speaking about our experiences with our boyfriends 😅🤦‍♀️ 😂But generally it was always fun on these voluntary works 🤩💕

I dont know 😅🤷‍♀️ I know that for Italy is typical tiramisu and for Austria it is Sacher cake but I dont know what is typical for other countries🤷‍♀️. And in Slovakia we have so many sweets that I even dont know which of them I can call "typical" for us, maybe this caramel one 👇😋😅

Midsummer's day is approaching. Do you celebrate it? If you do, do you follow any traditions (and what kind of traditions) ?

M1ssSemy’s Profile Photos ⭐ i
Yes, our tradition comes from the old Slavic tradition and is still maintained mainly in villages in central and eastern Slovakia.😃 On 24.6. when men with name Ján celebrates name day here, fires are established at night on meadows, people have party and jump over the fire. 🔥 Our ancestors believed that who jumps over the fire successfully, will be healthy all year. 💪 When a dating couple jump over fire together, their wedding day will be within year. 😁The single girls are looking for special herbs at night which should conjure up men for them 😍😅.

Here is part of one article about water in Slovakia 👇. We are not forced to buy bottled quiet water, but when we want mineral water with bubbles, the price is 0,33 - 0,50 Eur/liter, depends on quantity and sorts of minerals 🙂

Our plan is to spend 2 weeks in 2 various cottages here in Slovakia - one of them I know already and I was showing it in this answer : https://ask.fm/LarryStylestomlinson436/answers/171369329563. The second cottage is surprise for me (my husband and son have chosen it secretly 💟👍) and I want it to stay surprise for me, so not possible to show it 😅

Do you know any spa towns? If so, name as many or as little as you want 👍 😇

I know severall spa towns but in Slovakia only 😅. We have many springs with healing water here and they cure various diseases. (respiratory, skin, digestive, musculoskeletal, kidney, female diseases, heart, neuro diseases.). As per my opinion this spa resort is the most beautiful here - Rajecke Teplice inspired by ancient Greece (for healing of respiratory, musculoskeletal and neuro diseas).👇

Selena Gomez,Marshmello-Wolves

"Wolves" was written by Selena Gomez, Marshmello, Ali Tamposi, Andrew Watt, Brian Lee, and Louis Bell.[17] The song was described as a "sticky electronic snack"[18] and "propulsive EDM"[19] which is equally "acoustic-laced EDM and long, lost 80's pop". Caitlin Kelley from Billboard noted how Marshmello's influence in the song can be heard through "subtle trap elements, like the triple high hats buzzing beneath the smoky atmosphere."[20] "Wolves" opens "dark and gloomy" with Gomez singing over a clean electric guitar as Kat Bein from Billboard commented, the build of the bridge is "almost country-pop, but the choral hook is all Marshmello sweetness. In an interview with Zane Lowe for Beats 1, Gomez stated that the lyrics deeply reflects what she was feeling during the period she recorded the track. "Wolves" is a song by American singer Selena Gomez and music producer Marshmello. The song was written by Gomez, Ali Tamposi, Louis Bell, Brian Lee, and its producers Marshmello and Andrew Watt. The song was released by Interscope Records on October 25, 2017.
Commercially, the song has topped the charts in Latvia, Poland and Serbia while reaching the top 10 in Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, Hungary, Ireland, Lebanon, Malaysia, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Portugal, Slovakia, Sweden, Switzerland and the United Kingdom; as well as the top 20 in Germany and the United States. It was also the second-most successful electronic song of 2018 in the US. The single is certified Platinum or higher in fifteen countries worldwide, including Diamond in Brazil. Probably I will disappoint you but here in Slovakia we dont sing commercial world famous songs during Christmas 😅. TobbeAsks’s Profile PhotoTobbe
Slovakia has 5,5 mil. Inhabitants and 85% of them are Christians so our national Christmas traditions are based on this religion - praying before X-mas dinner 🙏, listening songs about borning of Jesus child 👼🎵, our small children believe that gifts under X-mas tree Jesus brings to them because they were obedient all year 😃, we cut apples and walnuts - nice star in the apple means happiness 🌟 and nice walnut inside means health for person who cut them 💪in next year. 🙂

AdrianaRafaela98’s Profile PhotoAdriianna Rafaella
From Dad I received 👉 love for nature, love for Slovakia, love for history
From Mom I received 👉 love for our folklore, love for handmaking things like sewing, knitting, painting, decorating
and all these gifts I gradually transmitted to my children and as they are quite self-determining personalities, they inspire me a lot too 😃 - daughter by her sport activities, she is pulling me with her to bike, quick walk and to swim and my son loves theater and music so with him I am forced to visit concerst and theatre performances, but I gave him one condition, that I want to see comedies only 😅

Drop a fact about your country. Preferably something I won’t find on Google!

Hello, I have found one video so I have got idea for re-answering this your question 🙂 - till end of 19th century in Slovak villages people used to wear folk dresses which are unseparable part of our folk culture and it is almost 600 sorts of them, they were decorated by various ribbons, bows, embroidery, lace and as per this folk dress it was possible to tell whether person was married or single or something about her/his job. Here is just short video - folk dresses of some parts of historic Slovakia 💟

In Slovakia we have 180 castles, chateaux and 400 mansions and despite of the fact that I was visiting many with my parents as a child and then with my own family, I was only cca in 50 of them - I will need next 2 lives for seeing all probably 😅 Here are maybe 80 of them 👇

Is there something you think is highly underrated? Why do you think it deserves a better reputation? 🤔📣

TobbeAsks’s Profile PhotoTobbe
This summer we visited one little castle and manor-house in the central Slovakia and I was nicely surprised that it is renovated and still are some workers there who are trying to rebuilt it and to furnish it by historical things and I thought that it was arranged by our state government - BUT NOT !!! - all this renewal was paid and arranged by one Slovak businesswoman who loves history and decided to put her own money t it to please other people loving history too. My opinion is that it is shame that government does not pay attention to our historical places as they deserve. Every nation should know his history and take care of his historical places as national treasure.

What is your favorite European country to travel to?

France. And no, not just Paris, but the rest of it as well. Love the food, the wine, the language and the nature. Only been a few times, but once the current situation is under control, I'd like to go for a longer visit. I miss getting awesome food at every random streetside bistro you come across.
Mountain roads, seaside with mountains in sight, beautiful tiny cities, Roman ruins. Italian cuisine sans Italians catcalling. Cheap house wine and fresh seafood. And I absolutely love their rocky beaches. Not only you can find a sitting nook with some hermit crabs, place to read a book and secure a bottle - people sunbathing avoid them and fry on lawns further from the sea. And no buttcrack sand! BiH and Slovenia have more wonderful mountains, but it's the mix of sea/mountains/mediterranean cities that won me forwever. People are friggin awesome there as well. Tourist fatigue can make anyone cranky, but Croatians seem remarkably unaffected by it. Unless you drive with German plates in which case you'll be emptying your trunk at every boorder crossing. Of the ones I've been to I've visited England, Italy, Slovakia, Czechia, Poland, Germany, Portugal, Greece, Spain and Turkey more than twice so I've gotten a better look at them to form an opinion. Of those Portugal probably, based on the people there being the most friendly (turkey comes second outside of tourist traps). Have had good experiences in them all, met lovely people all over and each has their own charm. I honestly wouldn't advise you to go to Venice during the Carnival, the Carnival it's super cool don't get me wrong, but I don't think it's worth the crowd, if possible I would try to go when is less busy. I just don't want you to get turned off from liking Venice by the crowd. Maybe the Regata Storica is a better alternative, equally cool, but less crowded. If you go to Venice remember to eat in the typical 'Bacari" restaurants, they usually make "cicchetti" and typical fish dishes.
Germany. I've spent by far more time there than any other country (apart from Wales and England ofc). I speak German and I've visited all but one of the Bundesländer (someday I will make it to Mecklenburg-Vorpommern). Love the food, beer, football, architecture and history.

I prefer traveling by car 🚗 because we can stop where we want and we are not depending on other people 😅...... the longest journey by car were to Croatia - around 700 km - probably 12 x during our family life (Croatian Sea is the nearest sea to Slovakia so Slovaks call it "Our Sea" 😋) - always my husband was driving and it always takes around 12 hours - we usually have just some 4 short breaks for stretching and eating and we use to travel at night from 11pm till 11 am. 😊 Next plan is summer 2022.
