You don't think trans women should be able to compete in drag contests?

Its not that I don't think they SHOULD.
Its that I dont know why they would want to.
Drag queens are just men masquerading as women. I know in the beginning, trans people devised the drag concept and they would use drag as a means to be their true selves and play it off as a "joke" so they could safely indulge in their true identity.
Back then, it made sense.
But drag has changed and evolved, as have trans people.
The word "Drag" means you're wearing women's clothes when you "should" be wearing men's.
A trans girl in a dress isn't a trans girl in drag. If we're going on gender stereotypes, the dress is appropriate for a woman.
Trans women are women. So why would they want to engage in something that's for MEN wearing WOMEN'S clothes? I feel like that would trigger *most* trans people's gender dysphoria. But I can't speak for every trans so its possible you could find a few who would do very well. And then it becomes about exaggerated costumes, makeup and hair skills.
But its not inherently transphobic imo to believe it would hurt them and maybe not let trans girls compete in drag QUEEN shows a general rule.
And you could argue that drag KINGS should be an option and I would agree.
However....most trans women grow up being forced to wear "boy clothes" for most of their lives, and assume a boys name when it doesnt feel right.
So while I'm sure some trans girls would be down to wear ACTUAL drag, i can also forsee it triggering PTSD for the wrong person. :(
I hope I properly spoke my point o3o
