I know people will misinterpret this and call me names, but this is truly shocking to me that some people never went on a ski trip? Like, really? It's not something that expensive. Sure, it isn't fairly cheap either, but it isn't exorbitantly expensive. My parents would take me every season.
It sounds like you are out of touch with reality. Millions and millions of people live nowhere near snow.

Yeah, it’s not very realistic in some cases. A partnership implies that they have invested to the point that they are at risk of losing everything and/or becoming homeless. Not everyone has people or a place to fall back on when things go badly in a partnership. Maybe do some research so you can learn to be a better friend to those who end up in such situations.

I live among people who don't know how to arrange fresh cut roses in a vase correctly. Who have no idea how to trim them properly and place them and wonder why they don't last long. Some things in life MUST be basic life skills by law and those who don't conform be punished. Tragic.
