How much does intent matter when someone wrongs you?

I guess it depends on the subject. Example: People who don’t understand ableism have said ableist things to me, thinking they were complimenting me. Their heart was in the right place, so I didn’t fight. But man, is it frustrating. I am lenient regarding ignorance from well-meaning people, but very much the opposite when I believe they do or should know better.

Does you significant other’s family like you?

When I had a significant other, yes they did like me and even liked me after the divorce. Years later, they paid for and attended my painting classes despite how ugly the situation remained. They know he was wrong. They are civil with him, but keep him at a reasonable distance to this day.

Anyone put up their Christmas tree yet?

I have a tree that stays up year-round that I decorate for the seasons. It currently has sunflowers and white lights all over it. I will decorate for Christmas in mid December.

A female person on ask-fm talks about men over 35 being ugly. She is 22 years old. She only likes young men birth to 25 years old. She is cruel to people who were once boys.

Stop acting like a victim and leave the 22 year olds alone.

My boyfriend won’t let me or my kids see my family. But he is 26 living with his mother and when I say she controls everything I mean EVERYTHING it got to the point to where I wanted to leave and he sorta held me down until I said I wasn’t going to go. At the same time his mom took my baby and hid

Take your child and get the hell out of there. No one can hold you against your will or imprison you. I was trapped in a similar hell (without a baby) and eventually escaped. I was homeless for a time but it was the best thing I ever did for myself. You have options, especially with a dependent. Don’t let anyone make you think you don’t. Contact your family to ask for intervention and escape.

It sounds like both parties may be bad at relationships. Learn to communicate and figure out whether or not you are compatible before entering a relationship. Don’t enter a relationship with irrational expectations or entitlement. Codependency is not attractive.
