No, but that could have been the case... initially I was kind of rejected, but it was more so because she did not realize she had feelings for me, too. Maybe I should have waited longer to confess; we were both too young for a relationship (me more so), but oh well. I am just glad she did not take long to reciprocate my feelings. I knew that if not, it would be a lifelong unrequited love.

It is evident that Yashiro is in love with Satoru--he takes care of him while he is in a coma for 15 (?) years. He is dedicated to him. Yashiro's desperate love is more obvious in the manga than the anime, but basically he lives for Satoru, and I love that kind of thing. He is unable to kill Satoru, even though he kills other children, because Satoru is special. Plus the major age gap. 😌
