Who knows you better than anyone else?
Talk to Allah like He’s your best friend. When you see something amazing, even though Allah sees it, quietly mention it to Him. When you’re walking home from work, tell Him about your day. Tell him about your plans for the next day when you’re lying in bed. Tell Him about the dream you had, what you want to eat for dinner, tell Him when you’re stressed, tell Him about your family… just talk to Him. You’ll grow closer to him, it’ll be easier to make dua and it’ll be easier to turn to Him in both happiness and sadness.

A poor woman came to me along with her daughters. I gave her three dates. She gave a date to each of them and then she took up one date and brought that to her mouth in order to eat that, but her daughters expressed desire to eat it. She then divided the date that she intended to eat between them. This (kind) treatment of her impressed me and I mentioned that which she did to Allah's Messenger ( صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ). Thereupon he said: Verily Allah has assured Paradise for her, because of (this act) of her, or He has rescued her from Hell-Fire.
