What sport do you play?

Badminton is my favourite, and the one that I've competed in and captained internationally. Athletics is another, especially cross-country and sprinting. Long distance runs are great but it's too hot right now. I was brought up in boats and love them. Sailing and yachting offer a clarity that I've really not found anywhere else. General strength training is a big part of what I do, but I don't know if that counts as playing, haha:)

But would you not end up stepping on a pup and then feeling guilty for the rest of eternity?

I just have the three and still end up stepping on them.
I live in a continual cycle of guilt - I don't think I could handle it, haha!

If you could have a large room stacked with one thing, what would it be, and why?

Can you imagine a room totally filled with beanbags?
Like, you can crawl inside with a book under one arm, and you're feeling so low. So you make yourself a little nest in this room of brightly coloured comfort. You can lose yourself in another world for a little while and just let your batteries recharge. You can fall asleep. You can stack up these beanbags until you've got a fort that would stand up to the outside world's scrutiny for as long as you need it to. You can bring a couple of choice friends into your room of beanbags and you can watch a movie.
Alternatively. Puppies.

In what ways are you closed minded?

I will always, always believe that it gets better.
Walking away from a hopeless situation will always feels like giving up.
Walking away from an abusive asshole will always feel like cowardice.
Walking away from someone helpless will always feel like twisting a dull knife.
And maybe I'm wrong, and maybe realism is better than optimism, but I don't know how to turn it around yet. I'll sort it out someday :)

Write as many facts about yourself as the number of your birthday. For example, if your birthday falls on the 15th, give me 15 facts. For an added challenge, try to make them interesting and current!

My birthday is just around the corner on the 12th. I don't know who is more excited about my 18th, me or my mother. I think it's my mother!
1. My boyfriend is an Irish identical twin. There is nothing more awkward than looking at the two boys in front of you and trying to work out which one is acceptable to kiss. Seriously.
2. My Dad's in the middle of moving out to the United Arab Emirates. I don't know if I'm going to miss him or not. I don't know whether I should or not. All I know is that texting him is going to get expensive veeery quickly.
3. I'm in my second year of university, and in the middle of applying for my third.
4. My favourite things about the courses so far have got to be my tutor setting fire to the Cardiff Metropolitan campus and this picture of Arctic photographer, Herbert Ponting, standing on his head during Scott's 1910-13 expedition. I was very proud of finding this picture in the archives. I got bonus points.
5. I had more of an idea what I wanted to do career-wise when I was 8 than I do now. So I'm still answering "Pirate." when people ask.
6. I sleepwalk. This has caused issues, because apparently watering the rose garden at 3 in the morning is not publicly acceptable.
7. I have to say, this confused me. Mainly because the nearest form of civilisation is a good mile and a half away. Other than that, it's sheep. And I don't think they care too much about roses.
8. I get this feeling that I have a spectacular secret when I'm wearing matching underwear, like I could very plausibly take over the world. I've also heard that I'm not alone in this.
9. I'm going to work in a hedgehog sanctuary for a day as part of my birthday present. Words cannot fully describe how insanely excited I am. THEY'RESOADORABLEIAMGOINGTODIE.
10. I speak Latin passably, Welsh dismally (But fluent. Mostly.) (My accent does not agree with it.) and I briefly learnt French but noped out of that one.
11. I want Lydia and Stiles to get together so mUCH. It's literally the only reason I'm still watching the show.
12. My birthday party is this Saturday evening and it's going to be phenomenal. I am so, so excited. You're all invited. Bring an odd sock that you don't mind losing.
