What is assertive ignorance?
It sounds like someone is being pushy about something of which they themselves don’t understand. Religion and politics have this problem. Not all of it, and not everyone, but definitely some of it qualifies as assertive ignorance. Some even go beyond assertive into aggressive.

It doesn’t sound cute. Sounds like they need to learn boundaries. Unless you didn’t clearly communicate your disinterest? If you’ve said no, they need to respect that and move on. If you’re silent (or worse, encouraging it) reassess yourself. ✌🏼

Which holidays do you and your family celebrate?
Most of the family seems to do Christmas, Thankgiving, Easter, and Halloween. I live alone, but occasionally visit family on one or more of those holidays.

If you had optimal conditions...what's the 1st major thing you would do?
I’m not sure what optimal conditions entails, but if I was healthy and able, I would have a completely different life altogether. I certainly wouldn’t be existing in public housing on social security. I don’t really know where I would be, or who I would be for that matter.

It’s kind of a big deal. I’m perpetually fighting to stay alive, so birthdays are a reminder that I made it another year.

Why are people mocking those who are trying to get back to work and put food on the table during the COVID-19 crisis?
I don’t think those are the people being mocked. It’s the fake patriotic, “gimmie mah constitutional freeeeedum”, irrational BS that is the issue. Like, boohoo, your local sports bar and pedicure shop are closed for a month. Let me play my tiniest violin for you while your neighbor is drowning in their own body fluids, alone in ICU.
I’m sorry businesses have been hurt, but public health is a priority. And for those who complain that it’s only the sick and elderly dying, they are both horribly wrong, and devaluing people’s lives. As far as I’m concerned, let all of the rebel punks go lick the pavement on Bourbon Street for all I care. People that heartless deserve whatever happens to them. The problem is that their decisions also affect innocent people, and that’s not ok. That’s why rules are necessary.
I hope we see more stimulus payments for the general public, and larger, more effective grants for businesses that have suffered. That’s what every government SHOULD be focusing on, to keep people safe and sustained until the pandemic ends. Alas, capitalism always wins in my country, so we’re basically screwed. Thanks ‘Merica.

I’m surviving, thanks. Quarantine is merely an inconvenience, not a catastrophe for me. I am concerned for others who are affected way worse. Still no stimulus, but not in dire need of anything (except medical care, but I digress).
Otherwise, just dealing with my usual daily life with neuromuscular disease. Staying alive and functional is a challenge, to say the least.
