In Portsmouth where I've been since September? lol
If you had a horse that needed an operation and then box rest for at least a year and a half what would you do?
Depends what the box rest was for... there would be no way in hell that I would keep a poor little horse shut in for that long if there was no guarantee that anything would be better for it in the end anyway, that's just cruel
so to get a horse going good on the flat what would you recommend
First I would say to think about yourself and what you as a rider are doing. It's essential that you're self aware as a horse mirrors the body language of the rider usually, so if you're slack and slumped, your horse will be slack and slumped. Also to remember to ride with a consistant contact, and I don't mean just rein length, contact is felt everywhere. Horses communicate through body language; every single shift of each individual part of your body sends a signal to the horse so you need to know you are giving the right signals. One last thing because I can't be arsed to write anything else, would be a gentle reminder that you need to move with your horse. You absolutely have to be supple if you want your horse to work in the best way possible. Any stiffness from you results in the horse being unable to use itself fully, and therefore not work in a correct outline x
surely having a light seat would nicer for the horse and then they would go better?
Ah, but there's a difference between having a light seat and tipping forward. You can still have a light seat whilst seating "deep". It's all about self-carriage, core strength & maintaining your centre of gravity. I do see where you're coming from though, but I think it's a massive misconception as you NEED your seat bones to engage the horse correctly; it's your main point of contact with them. :-)
They do adopt a more "classical" English seat that you'd see most British riders using, but I still think they look kind of perched and don't really sit in the saddle properly
Mmmm largely meh about it.. Whenever I've seen American riders in person the horses have always seemed quite on the forehand and I do think it's the riding style taught that's responsible for the lack of correctness in the horses way of going. But that's just what I think and what I've personally seen, so feel free to prove me wrong if you can and want to
You have so many mood swings I swear you have about four different personalities one minute you are really kind and considerate, the next you are blunt and moody, then you are just plain vindictive and then you turn into some kind of gentle caring sweetheart
Bore off Can you guess which of "my four personalities" I'm in? :))))
what products have you been using to grow your hair? xxx
I haven't actually been using anything, just been washing it as normal haha. I did buy a lengthening/thickening shampoo yesterday but I havent used it yet and I can't remember what it's called x
he's checked every day anon, and showed no signs until he refused to move, we had the vet straight out and they didn't pick up on it, which is just unlucky, we tried more than anyone else with his drips and everything all through the night and today, we fucking held him up, so stfu.
How are you weak? Are you really asking me that question? You are weak and you are pathetic because you are trying to kick someone while they're down. She's a lot stronger than you'll ever be because she will carry on like always despite the horrific treatment people like you are giving her. Fuck off.
No, you see what YOU want to see. You've painted such a nasty picture of Harley in your brain that your view of her is so twisted it's unbelievable. It's ok though, because we know what you are. You're just weak. :)
its probably harleys fault about murphy tbh. if she had actually gone down to see him and take care of him that wouldnt have happened
Shut up you ratchet bitch, you can only give an opinion like that (even though it would be ludicrous and plain wrong anyway) when you're qualified to give that opinion.
cant believe your consoling harley about murphy when she didnt do anything with him anyway so clearly didnt care about him and then just said "shit happens" about his death. she couldnt care less about him, she doesnt deserve your sympathy!
Evidently you have VERY selective eyesight - did you not see her constant updates about him? Did you not read her obituary passage about him when she shared with us all that it was time to let go? Have you not seen the pictures of she and him? Just because a horse isn't in constant work and being completely molly-coddled doesn't mean they aren't cared about or that they aren't special to people. You are just idiotic to not realise that, apparently. As for "Shit happens" surely you cannot be so naive to not understand that people grieve differently? "Shit happens" wasn't said in a tone that means Harley's simply cast him aside and thinks he is now irrelevant - I think she is processing what has happened and acknowledging that tragic things DO happen. You'll do well to remember too that she has a yard full of horses that cannot graze that all need time and attention. Yes it's sad and it's heartbreaking that she has lost Murphy, but her world can't stop because of it, not when those other rescue ponies and Simon and Willow need her too.Sorry for the essay, but I just think you're a stupid prick who is blinded by hatefulness and clearly needed all that spelling out for them.
