generally, how long does it take for you to brainstorm for a new book? (like, creating characters and specific scenes in the novel). is it days? weeks? months? also, do you always plan out all of your scenes or do you just write spontaneously?

creating characters and thinking of a few specific scenes that I want to happen can take a matter of hours for me o: maybe one, maybe more.
however, actually planning things out can take longer--maybe days, weeks, months, depending on the story.
I don't always plan out my scenes! I barely ever plan them all out (the only one I've really done that with is man hunt and that's because I tried winging it and it didn't work) because I always end up changing my mind or tweaking the scenes because the characters' conversations just kind of go in a different direction than I had originally planned. I usually have what I call "plot checkpoints" which are major scenes I have planned and then I fill in the blanks in between c:

What was the last lie you told?

that I wasn't crying, I was laughing.
(backstory: I was giving a talk to a group of 7th graders at gardner middle school--I thought it was going to be 20 people and it ended up being 200-ish so I was terrified and overwhelmed so yeah a few tears came hahaha)
on another note, the presentation went well! :D

The struggle to get up in the morning...

I woke up like 5 times last night because it was so hot
so I did not get a good night's sleep
my eyes hurt

OMGawd wasnt it painful? -the braces- there are spaces in my teeth but i'm running away from braces cause im scared.. I have this believe that my teeth will rearrange when im older #faith haha

not as nearly as painful as we all probably imagine it is o:
like your teeth are sore the day after a tightening, but for the most part it's fine
I really hate the elastics, though. those things hurt. I usually cheated and didn't wear them as often as I should have hahaha oh well I regret nothing c':
