yes! my friends and family, for one. and, tbh, my family and i have always joked that i would take the time to throw my books out my bedroom window before trying to escape a fire. not gonna lie, i can totally see myself doing it. xD

You're not missing out. Unless a person posts on their profile that they're open to requests, I would be careful about asking people on message boards and PMs. A lot of the time (though I definitely don't speak for everyone), it's considered annoying and discourages people from checking out the story. This is especially true if you post on someone else's story--that's considered rude and disrespectful.
Of course, there are exceptions. Read people's profiles and see whether or not they're interested in requests. Not everyone states whether or not they want to receive them, but sometimes people will say so. I myself am open to requests, as long as they're sent to the email on my website (the link is on my profile, if you're interested). i want more confidence in myself and get rid of this stupid insecurity. it makes me feel crappy, and i hate it.
Any tips for editing? (please & thank you)
idk if i'm the best person to go to for this, but from my experience i guess i would say don't edit your entire manuscript in one go (you'll get lazy and tired and miss errors), have other people read over your manuscript if you can, and fix the bigger issues (the kind of stuff you'd do in revising, like adjusting plot and characters, fixing plot holes, etc.) before you move on to the smaller things, like spelling errors, etc.
