i haven't really seen what reading lists my books have been added into recently, just because i don't really look at my newsfeed (reading comments on really old chapters of really old stories makes me nervous); but i remember one time one of my books was put into a reading list title something along the lines of "books i hate"

bang bang is about a girl named shay who plays in the school-wide game, assassin. everyone has to pay five dollars to play, and the winner of the game gets all of the entrance fees. shay can't wait to "kill" west, who is the reason why she lost the year before. however, because so many people enter this year, there's a twist on the game: they have to assassinate in pairs. and shay is paired with west. so instead of fighting against west, she has to fight with him (which neither wants).
as for the game assassin: basically, someone creates a hit list of names (which is just the people who decided to play the game). each entrant is given a target, and the objective is to "kill" the target using whatever weapons are allowed in the game (water guns, etc). there are also safe-zones (typically the school or the assassins' houses) where no one is allowed to "kill" another person. once you "kill" your target, you receive your next assignment. this continues until there is only one assassin left standing--or, in bang bang's case, two assassins. there can also be repercussions for breaking the rules (i.e. bringing weapons into a safe-zone). you could be eliminated, or there could be a free-for-all, which basically means everyone left in the game is after you now. oh, and no one knows who is participating in the game--this is kept a secret. so you end up really paranoid, because anyone around you could be an assassin xD (there are probably details i forgot, but you can look it up if you want! c:)

75: Colie is failing history, and to bring her grade up she has to go to a history reenactment center called Ancien History, where she will be expected to reenact the Revolutionary War.
Bang Bang: Shay and a bunch of her classmates participate in the school-wide game called Assassin.
Leilani Kealoha and the Runaway Angel: Leilani helps Jerico find his runaway brother.
The Gate Revamp: The Gate is becoming a trilogy and going through heavy revisions; that's all I'll say for spoiler reasons.
Senior Skip Day: Sadie goes camping with a bunch of other kids from her grade for senior skip day and ends up getting lost with Arabelle and Phoebe.
Press Play: In the present, Katalyn and her friends try to deal with the loss of Jolie, who passed away exactly a year ago due to her cystic fibrosis; in the past, Katalyn and Jolie become friends and experience many things throughout the course of Jolie's 17 years of life.
Breathless: Companion to Press Play; Emery has cystic fibrosis and is afraid to tell her crush and later-on boyfriend, Shane.
Reflection: Avalon finds herself transported to a warring dimension through her mirror (very difficult to explain in one line, so apologies!).
Saving Daniel: Companion to Reflection; Ada hides a concentration camp escapee despite the fact that her father is one of the soldiers trying to kill said escapee (again, very difficult to explain in one line).

im pumped for lady midnight also, but if she makes another shadowhunter series after that I probably won't read it bc that'll just be dragging it on. as much as i love the shadowhunter world, sometimes i wish she'd move on to other things :c
