It was good though the temps were blazing hot. Didn't talk to anyone. When I wasn't in motion, the music was just above conversation level. The pic is the drink station and that was the outfit of a server for a rock n roll bar

Is imprisonment psychological torture? Given its nil rehabilitative value and tremendous expense, should our society consider alternatives? The United States imprisons a greater portion of its population than any other nation on this planet.

The US does have a large portion in prison compared to other countries. My thought wold be more rehabilitation with medium and min security prisons. Let the convict know that if he/she maintains very good behavior, then that person will be transferred to a med then min security facility. It may only require 12 or 24 months of hard time. The money saved from not needing as many max facilities can go into exit type programs...finishing schooling and learning a trade.

If you had a great-grandparent who was committed to an insane asylum, would you want to know why, and if it was genetic? What if the place was now used for ghost tours and was all freaky looking...would you tour it knowing your own family member had been there? BTW, I'm asking for a friend. :)

I would not be worried considering my grandparents and parents were not mentally ill. Things like that will only skip one generation a most (typically)

How often, in real life, do you actually encounter sexist behavior and language? How about racist language? I mean truly sexist and racist, not just immature, vapid attempts to annoy or offend. I occasionally hear sexist language, but I've been around some who drop the n-bomb like it's nothing.

Very rarely do I encounter this where one is doing it with malicious intent. Both men and women make sexist comments all the time. Typically when women do it, they are "empowered."

So...what's your take on Syria? The US is war-weary, that's clear. Cameron thinks action should be taken, along with Obama, but Parliament voted him down. 400 children alone have been gassed by their own country. Do we have a moral obligation to intervene?

The US needs to stay out. Most of the rebels have closer ties to terrorism than to democracy. The same people that we might "help" will eventually be anti-US fighters in the future.
Bad things happen to civilians including children all over the world on a regular basis. The US simply cannot be the guardian of everyone at risk
