How are you spending your day today?
I went to Mass and Benediction in the morning. Tried to sort out my phone. Had lunch with my mom and dad and a visitor. Took the dogs for a walk with my mom. Slept. Said some prayers and a bit on Facebook and her on Ask. Played a few games. Did a little work on the extension for my parents.
What is the key to truly knowing God?
To seek him with your whole heart, mind, soul and strength.
Does God help those who help themselves?
Yes, but don't go out and steal.
What was God doing before He created the universe?
Perfectly at rest and perfectly in action the creation of the universe did not change this.

For our good.

Have you noticed that you often back up your OPINION of religious matter with bible quotes, why is that?
Religious matters are revealed to us by God. One of the sources of revelation is Scripture and so I try to show that my opinions are in line with what God has revealed to us. If they are not please show me.
Do you find that poor people are often happier than rich people?
Yes. Their lack of fear of other people is one of the keys to this I think and their willingness to share what they have.
How are the plans for your parents extension going?
Very slowly!
Do you bathe or shower daily?
Usually shower but the occasion bath is very relaxing. :-)

Yes, I trimmed hair and beard. I was a little concerned that the airport authorities would not like my beard. I have had quite a bit of trouble before.
Is it important to you to be seen as anise guy?
I do crave other people's friendship and approval but on the other hand I know that this is not important but that pleasing God is. I can sometimes deliberately or half intentionally hurt people's feelings to try to make them not get too attached to me. Who knows themselves?
Do you think the church are wrong to discriminate against people with mental health problems?
I am not sure that the Catholic Church does discriminate against people with mental health problems.
In my case only one monastery rejected me outright due to my mental health issues and they led a very intense life of prayer. They knew from experience that one required a stable mind to make a success of that life and so they were simply helping me not to take on something in which I would fail. The other monasteries I approached for very sympathetic and while concerned about my mental health did not rule me out from joining on these grounds.
Despite other issues which I have with the hierarchy of the Church I have found the same hierarchy to be really patient and loving with my mental health issues.

Do you think it's possible to live the like of a monk without living in a monastery?
Yes, very much so. St. Josemaria Escriva the founder of Opus Dei speaks of carrying the monastery around with one in one's heart. His was very intent on Christians living in the midst of society and being the leaven to make society holy. Every strength to those who follow him!

I do have a lot of suspicions and am anxious at times I am not sure that I would describe myself as withdrawing from social situations but I am quite a loner.
I would be cautious as to ascribing too much of one's behavior to brain chemicals. I think quite a lot of these traits are also linked to one's own actions. Perhaps the chemicals give one a disposition to behave in a particular way and then by giving into these predispositions one forms a habit.

Why do you think God allows so much evil in the world? I sometimes wonder if He has got so fed up with us that he's given up on us :/
Let us pray that God has simply let us go our way because we will not listen.
God certainly does not desire evil.
God only allows evil to draw a great good from it. I suppose one consequence of evil in the world is that exercises those who want to live a life pleasing to God! Saddle up!

What characteristics does a person have that makes you think they are powerful?
When I mentioned the powerful in a recent answer I was not thinking of the powerful as having particular characteristics but as having power in the world.
I am not sure I would really describe a person's character as powerful I would rather say they are a strong person or perhaps domineering or other terms like that.

The anger I feel about the powerful mistreating the weak is usually for other people who are mistreated.
Well thanks for saying that I appear strong, God is my strength. There are many aspects in which I am really weak though. It is something to rejoice in though for as St. Paul says when I am weak then I am strong.
