If we are all children of God how can we account for the evil people amongst us?

We are certainly all children of God in the sense that God has made us all.
There is in each of us the ability to do good and evil. It is true that some people have chosen evil predominantly in their lives but even they will do acts of good and they may turn back to God before death.

Does God want us to work or would he rather we pray all day like nuns and monks do?

There are many ways to live a life pleasing to God. I should point out that most monks and nuns combine work and prayer and it is the very select few who live a life of prayer only. I think this is the highest form of service to God but it is only for the few. God has a unique way in which he desires that we serve him even within the broader states of life, like marriage or religious orders, and we need to try to live that out.

Would you rather continue your life as it is or start it over?

Definitely continue. God is in charge and I am striving to come to him.

Have you ever been to Australia my love? :) <3

Yikes, I think it is not quite fair calling someone your love who does not know you.
I have been to Australia once to visit my sister who lives there with her husband.

Do you understand why God allowed Jesus to go on the cross?

Of course I do not fully understand this but it is because he loves me!

Do you get upset when things don't go the way YOU want them to?

Lol. I can get horribly upset at times and start to build all kind of grand theories as to why they have not worked out as I wanted them too so as to justify myself!

Why are you inconsistent with your friends?

I think at the root of it is a selfishness which I must fight. There have also been external factors. I could say to some extent that I have sought friendship with God over that with man but I have often failed to do what God would have wanted me to do. An additional factor has been mental issues.
I have had quite a few changes in my life which has made it difficult to keep friendships.
At varsity I joined a church group which while having many very, very good characteristics quite strongly influenced one to break one's old friendships. This meant I lost contact with my school friends. I met really great people in this church group and built good friendships with them but then became Catholic and lost these friendships.
As a Catholic I was attended Mass with a particular group and built some great friendships there too. I left to study for the priesthood with this group in Germany which made it difficult to continue the friendships. Soon after I returned home when things did not work out at the seminary I stopped attending Mass with this group and started to attend Mass at the local parish. This put some strain on the friendship which I had built within this group.
At this time is also when I started to have mental issues and this put a great strain on all friendships and made it difficult for me to build new strong friendships. This has been and still is a factor till now.
An example of how my mental issues can strain friendships is my suddenly leaving my home town and friends and moving 600km away on literally a moments notice as I felt things were simply getting too much for me and I needed to get away. I had told no one and I kept contact with no one for over a month and then only started a very limited contact on the internet.
As an added factor I am also often in conflict or at least tension with parish priests and this makes relationships in the Christian family more difficult. I don't have contact with people at work as I am not working. I am also older and single and don't really want a romantic relationship and this sort of makes me a little odd.
This said I am am trying to overcome the selfishness which has hurt relationships before.
It also seems to me that friendship is something which is quite rare in these troubled times.

Why is it so hard to get a job? Do you work?

I am not working.
Yikes there are so many factors that can make it difficult to find a job.
I suppose one of the biggest factors is the state of the economy.
Work is an important part of life but one must be sure not to confuse one's value with the work that we do. We are of value primarily not for what we do but for who we are. We are children of God.

tbh do you have a big pee pee?

Tbh I don't think the size of my penis is any of your business or that of anyone else for that matter.

I'm about to go to an interview. Any advice for me? I would truly appreciate it.

sharurix’s Profile PhotoLee
Hi Lee, I will certainly be praying for you. It seems that time is short but you could try think of questions you would ask if you were the interviewer and run through basic answers to them in your mind. My sister who has been hiring and interviewing quite a few people in her work told me recently that one of the most important things she now looks for is if the person is someone who is socially adept. I think you have this ability in abundance so let that show. I am not sure that I should mention it but it is interesting that interviewers seem not to hire people who they think will threaten their position - who are cleverer than them. If you think the person might be threatened by your ability you might want to sell yourself more modestly.
These are some thoughts off the top of my head, I hope they are of some help.
Again prayers. :-) :-) :-)

If a stranger walks up to me and says, “Don’t take advice from strangers,” should I take his advice?

I suppose this shows the danger of following rules rigidly.

If my goal was to fail, and I failed, did I succeed or fail?

Kinkyandproud’s Profile PhotoEdward
You succeeded in achieving your goal but perhaps you failed to set a good goal.

I have woken up feeling very down. Has this ever happened to you and if so what do you do to cheer yourself up?

Yes, this has happened on occasions. Prayer is the best thing to help me feel better. Getting out of the house and going for a walk would also help. We are really lucky to have very good weather all year round in Johannesburg.

In what ways are you controlling?

I like to be in charge and like to thought important and this leads me to try to control others opinions.

How do we earn merit with God? Is praying more worthy than helping the poor?

In order to please God we must have faith as our starting point. Then it is a matter of with how much love for him we do an act. St. Therese of Lisieux said that if one were to pick up a pin with pure love of God it could earn enough merit to save the whole world.
So love is the greatest determinant of the merit we gain by our acts. Aside from this the difficulty of the act also has bearing on the graces we earn and the nobility of the act. As to noble acts surely the greatest we can perform is to assist at Mass which is really being present at the Cross and sharing in Christ's crucifixion.
Christ has also warned us that we must help our neighbour. We cannot say that we are neglecting our neighbour in order to love God.
I hope this is of some help.

Do you think free will exists? Do we have control over our decisions, or are we just set on a predetermined path? Please elaborate.

Yes, free will does exist. God nevertheless knows all that will happen and nothing can happen outside of the will of God. These two ideas might seem contradictory to us but they are not. Frank Sheed in his book "Theology and Sanity" suggest holding both concepts in one's mind to gain greater understanding.
