Travellers ✈️: what’s your worst flight experience? how was your latest trip/flight, did you have any complications?

I think the trip from South Korea to back home was the worst in terms of flight. It was 12 hours and I hate sitting down. I thought I would sleep off a good 50% of it but I couldn't. Then, and this is what really ticked me, 1 hour before we landed, I discovered the flight had all the Star Wars films. I could have had a dAMN MARATHON BUT NO, I DIDN'T CLICK ON "CLASSIC MOVIES" BECAUSE I THOUGHT IT WOULD BE THE REALLY REALLY OLD ONES.
As for before flight complications, Moscow to back home was terrible. It was a school trip and our teacher forgot the passports at the hotel. So we sat in the airport in sheer panic, but luckily my friend had Cards Against Humanity with her. Super fun game, but it was super stressful.

Yeah, it's absolutely hilarious that girls are thought to be irrational and crazy because they menstruate! 🤣 Its even more hilarious to suggest a male menstruates. Its not like they could be irrational on their own. Its a girl thing 🤣

Uh oh. I hit a soft spot on you, Anon. It's a known fact that when girls menstruate, our hormones get all over the place, thus making us sometimes have difficult control over our emotions. That was the whole point, men cannot menstruate and that is what makes it funny. I agree that the joke was tasteless, but that is what it will remain: a fucking joke. Periods are girl things. Both men and women act irrational and crazy? And men can be irrational on their own. Hence my friend get hypersensitive about his beard. But again, Anon. A joke. Between friends. Where no one was offended. You ok, now? Take a breath.

Are you the spoiled one in your family? Do your parents have a fav?

I am the eldest. I have not been spoiled in a long long time. And my baby sister is everyone's favourite. My younger sister is my grandmother's favourite.
I think I am my aunts' and uncles' favourites? They're like my older siblings to be honest.

what's the weirdest thing you have ever got in DMS?

I was talking to one of my friends and I don't know what brought it up but I told him "hopefully, you'll grow a beard one day" and he got bUTtHuRTeD and texted one of our other friends and this was the message: "Rana, be nice to him. He's on his period."
I cackled.
But yeah, no weird messages to moi.

Which color theme (found in settings) do you use on this site? do you ever change it or do you stick to just one?

I was using the dark blue for quite some type and then decided to change to the red for the heck of it.

Where does one draw the line between helping others and showing them how to help themselves? Is this something one can balance?

Question Spammer
This is a tough one. What I tend to do, because this is how I learn, is to always show first. Always. Then actually help them if they camnot or unable. While being independent is a good thing, it's nice to know people have your back. But have your own back first, a spineless being crumples from the force of their own failures. Straighten your back mateys.
*yes those last few sentences are a weird metaphorical pun that I attempted in order to inspire whatever unfortunate reader manages to come across this answer. In my defence, it's almost 4AM. Gold star for you.

Do you cry when you’re being yelled at?

It honestly depends on how guilty I feel I think. Yes, a shocker, I somehow grew a conscience!!1!11! Anyways, I think it has to do with rising panic as well? I loathe, hate, despise, abhor, and detest loud noises and noises that are louder than they need to be. If someone is yelling at me, you best believe I am telling them to shut the hell up. Only my parents can yell at me, and even then they never do unless they're panicking over whatever dumbfuck catastrophe I did. Anyone else will be shitting teeth for the next few days because I am punching those down their throat. Don't yell, improve your argument.

are there poor people in Saudi? I imagine everyone has a big mansion.

here are poor people, yes. They usually either live in the older sections of the larger cities or on the outskirts. Not all of us live in mansions, but gates are very very common here. Rarely will you ever see a front door of a house that goes out to the street straight away. Every country has poor people, it is an unfortunate fact of life and we should help them anyway we can.

where do you wish to see yourself in 10 years?

Alive. Hopefully. That's the first thing. Secondly, a career I enjoy? That's my biggest issue at the moment, I am not sure what eXACTly I am going to do after my Masters. It's a little hazy, but to be honest, I don't mind it so much.

What's the quickest way to make a girl cry?

The quickest way to make this girl cry is tell her fake pockets were god's gift to fashion and that books are dumb.

Are you naturally jealous?

I don't think I am. I always try my damnest to be successful and I am a firm beliecer that comparing yourselves to others all the time is unhealthy. Keep going, jealousy gets one no where at all.

Why do you want to meet the mother of the child?

I mean, if I am going to be raising this child who, let us assume for the sake of argument is around 6 or 7 years old, then I don't want him/her to feel like they are choosing between me or their mum. Also, I am not the child's biological mother. If she is alive and she and her previous partner got divorced for mutual reasons, then she I still think she has a say in her child's life? Just because you're divorced doesn't mean you need to cut contact with your kid as well. This is my personal belief on the matter, but it's very unlikely that I agree to marry a single father in the first place unless I genuienly believe he is worth it.

Which cities would you like to visit around the world?

My sister and I are trying to plan a trip to Japan in the not so distant future. If anyone has ever been, your suggestions are highly appreciated!

Do you know any "conspiracy theorist" as some would label it (could be in real life or online or anything), who actually lowkey makes sense/doesn't sound like 100% pseudoscience?

I think that no matter how absurd or strange a conspiracy theory is, it's important to remember it has come from sOME sort of truth. For active theorists, no I don't know anyone nor do I follow them. But I remember reading somewhere that social media data servers collect so muchinformation about our personalities, they are later able to project certain things on to us that actively change the way we think and perceive the world around us. That, one it's own, is pretty damn terrifying. So as crazy as they sound-yes even the ones about aliens- I don't think we can write it off as 100% pseudoscience.

Which is better: a book, a movie or TV series Sherlock?

Definitely book Sherlock, hands down.
Movie Sherlock, while extremely entertaining, did not do the character and vibe of Holmes justice. But RDJ was damn fantastic. Highly enjoyable.
TV series Sherlock gave Holmes a new twist. I like that he was portrayed younger and that the character development was evident and a main focus.
But nothing beats book Holmes.

How can I stop being so hard on myself? I wish I were more accepting and supporting of myself.

The first step is realising that, no matter what you chose to believe, you dO possess amazing qualities. Stop equating your bad traits with your good ones. Focus more on developing yourself in being a decent human being. You're your own person. Also, this:
How can I stop being so hard on myself I wish I were more accepting and

Do you prefer explaining things in your native language or in English?

It depends on who I am talking to and the subject in question really. But maiy the former.
With my late grandfather, I prefered Arabic as well as with my other grandparents. Guests, and just people older than me in general, I prefer Arabic. With friends, our conversations are mostly in English because we are all from different backgrounds and English is the one language we have in common (aside from my very very broken French).
