Happy last week of 2020. How was the year for you?

n11shake’s Profile PhotoShake
This year was honestly an absolute rollercoaster. My grandma, God rest her soul, passed away, my aunt got engaged to the love of her life, my cousin also got engaged, I got closer to my friends, old and new, I GOT MY DRIVER'S LICENSE FINALLLLYYYY, and over all I feel like I grew as a person thanks to this pandemic. Thank you 2020,

Have you ever had a toxic relationship (be it romantic, familial, or a friendship) and how did you deal with it? Did you cut ties or did you find a way to mend the relationship?

romantic and friendship? No. I pick the people I surround myself with and I won't ever be in a relationship or get close to someone who I believe is toxic.
Familial? Honestly yes. I can't exactly cut them off which is why we are working on mending the relationship.
Life be tough sometimes.

lmao try out an app called Keepass, really helpful to store all your passwords in an encrypted database

Ohh I wanted to ask you about that, are those password databases actually safe?
I would rather go through the hassle of remembering them then storing them somewhere I don't for sure know.
And since we opened the subject, can you suggest good VPNs for me pls? I don't trust youtubers xD

What’s the scariest disaster you have witnessed?

My late grandfather slipping and almost spiltting his head open was terrifying.
My uncle had to hold a towel at the back of his head to stop the bleeding, and my sole purpose was annoying my grandfather to the point he had no choice but to stay awake until the ambulance arrived. Naturally my first questions were "how are you" followed promptly by why exactly does he believe about intergalatic space battles and their effect on different alien species.
I remember it being an interesting conversation, but I heard next to nothing because my heart was beating too fast :)

Is there a benefit to traveling and witnessing/experiencing other cultures firsthand? If so, what are they? If not, please explain.

Yes yes yes and yes. You can hear storues about a place, read its history but all of those are secondary, and dare I say, biased sources. Nothing is as it seems. You can hear about a culture all you like, but to truly truly know it, to leave that cloud of ignorance, one must be willing to open their minds and understand and talk to the people representing that culture.

What is your best question to get to know someone?

"Do you like ducks?"
If they get weirded out and ask why - leave them. They have 0 imagination.
If they go on about feeding them - keep them. They are a cute cinnamon roll who care for animals and enjoy peaceful activities.
If they tell you a story about how a duck bit them once - also keep them. They have seen and felt great pain. True warriors right there.
If they try to come up with a qUiRkY answer - leave them. We do not like those people.
If they believe ducks are the true spies as opposed to the vast majority who believe it to be pigeons - Marry them. They are mysterious and know many secrets, probably banned in 20 countries, and also probably know martial arts which is always hot.

I put my drink in the freezer to cool it down faster, set an alarm so I wouldn’t forget, shut off the alarm when it dinged, and then forgot my drink in the freezer anyway. What’s your worst habit?

AmericanLass’s Profile PhotoC.
I underestimate and overestimate horribly in equal measure.
I overestimate my ability to 'aCe aN eXAm' because I hate revising so much as it essentially things I already "know" and I get bored really really quickly.
I underestimate how difficult things are. I'm very petty lmao so if someone tells me I can't do something, guess what? I'm doing it.
Fun tings :')

Tell about your favorite teacher!

I had so many favourites tbh but I can tell you the one I didn't like was so stuck up and thought because she knew exactly 5% of the course material, she was a master at the subject. Naturally, I ask questions, thus exposing gaps in her understanding. So yes, I was the kid that argued with the teacher for the sake of everyone else. Ur welcome.
Got a C fucking plus in that class but you know what? She never taught that course again. I calls that a wIN.

Omg, I relate to this too! It’s so silly coz *I* wouldn’t hesitate to help someone and most people *want* to help? Hopefully my brain will understand this soon (but I won’t bet on it)!

YES YES EXACTLY!!! And the thing is I know my best friends would help me in a heartbeat if I needed it, just like I would to them but for some reason my brain is like "u coWARD stOP oUr hOnOUr!!1!1"

How do you deal with loss?

Depends on what kind of loss.
Death? I cry. A lot lmao. My grandmama الله يرحمها passed away in July of this year and I haven't been the same since. I still find myself crying myself to sleep because I miss her so much.
Big mistakes that cause a loss? I take in stride to be honest. But this is new. I was conditioned that mistakes meant the end of the fucking world but now? I'm happy when I make them I honestly learnt more about myself than I did before and as a self-proclaimed Discoverer, I find it super fun. Mistakes are my happy place now, find a solution to a problem? MY REASON FOR LIVING.
