Talk about the nature of human freedom
To me, it doesn't exist. Freedom is defined as "the power or right to act, speak, or think as one wants." But there are always, and I mean always, external factors that affect our judgement. The way we were raised, our friends, our family, our likes/dislikes, our society, even our gender at certain times. They all play important roles in shaping us as a unique individual. It seems certain predictions have been made about us the moment we were born, a "destiny" if you will.
I don't think we are ever truly free. We have responsibilities and goals that we are chained to. Sure, we aren't behind bars, but our thoughts, our subconsciousness isn't that free. Freedom is an illusion that we believe to make ourselves feel better.

"Sensory deprivation" it means isolating yourself from any type of stimuli. They use flotations tank for it, the tank is "sound proof, light proof, and contain water that the same temperature as your body". So how much time you think you could stay in before it become unbearable?
A minute tops. I know for a fact that I need to know what the hell is going on around me. I rely on all my senses, all the time. Temporarily "getting rid of them" will drive me up the wall.

Why is it to some people it's a big deal when someone doesn't speak English fluently and then conclude that someone is an idiot? Some people believe that speaking English fluently makes you an intelligent person, and is the main source to succeed in life. English is not a knowledge. Sigh.
I see your problem, Anon. When I first started learbing English, I kept messing up. Kind of unfair when I knew another language.
I think it is because they associate good grammar with intelligence. But don't let it bother you too much, as long as you are trying to improve yourself, why let others take that away?
