Desde luego que hay muchos personajes a los que tengo un especial cariño o que me agradan mucho. Algunos de ellos sé que tienen sus fallos, pero por una u otra razón me siguen gustando mucho. Te comento algunos brevemente:

Roberta Draper (The Expanse): la determinación hecha persona. A pesar de su entrenamiento militar, rígido y repleto de doctrina, supo distinguir cuál era el camino que una mujer de su talla y con sus valores tenía que acabar siguiendo. Y no solo eso, sino que hizo lo más difícil: apostar por ello, aun cuando se vio sola y en peligro.

Camina Drummer (The Expanse): un alma luchadora como ninguna otra. Su papel en la historia, para mí, es dejarnos claro que aún con adversidades de todo tipo, la mayor guerra a la que uno puede acabarse enfrentando es la interna. Y Camina encontró la forma de prevalecer ante eso.

Bruce Wayne: sé que a este personaje se le ven muchas fallas a día de hoy, por no hablar de que cada vez es más criticado por lo que es, no por lo que hace. Pero vaya, que me da igual; la utilización del miedo como fuente de fortaleza y como arma siempre será para mí algo muy interesante. A nivel estético me atrae solo en su periodo más tardío.

Rust Cohle (True Detective): un personaje imprimado de un nihilismo verosímil y que te llegas a creer. Me fascina tanto él (como personaje), como su misma creación y planteamiento. Considero que es un personaje de creación casi perfecta, y su filosofía profunda y desesperanzada, junto con su dedicación por ver hecha una pizca de justicia en cuanto al caso que se le asigna, para mí crean un contraste muy bello.

I think I told you some time ago that I perform at Unity church on Sunday mornings, right? Well last week the band at another church quit and I was asked to perform on either guitar or bass. This 6pm mass on Sunday night is a teen mass and they want us to play Christian rock music, which will be great fun. Last week it was just a pianist and me on bass. This week they have a drummer which I am excited about so we will see how that goes.
I've explained to the music director that I want to help the music ministry but I do not want to perform the same old uninteresting and lame Christian music that young people do not want to hear. Since this mass if supposed to be for teens, I am praying that God will intervene and allow us to play some genuine rock music. We shall see.

I love music! So much so that I went to college to learn to direct music videos (even though I did well in my media classes, I eventually changed my course of study). I mostly listen to hip hop and rock. People often say smell is the sense greatest linked to memory but for me it's definitely sound and music. When I hear an older song it definitely brings me back to when I first heard it and where I was in that point in life. It often reminds me of who I was dating then and how much easier life was before growing up. Back in the Napster days, I took pride in finding new artists before anyone else. I was really into the southern hip hop (Huston, New Orleans, Atlanta, Memphis) scene around the beginning of the 00's. I once had a girl ask me how I always seemed to find the good artists no one had heard of yet, and I told her, "I usually would find a song or artist that I liked and would search out their music and that if they had and features or guest artists on their songs I would then search out that artist and their library". Not every artist is a winner. Plenty of them can have a good song or two but an overall subpar catalogue but the search was most the fun. Music is the reason I get up in the morning. I play the violin, am learning the ukulele, and sing. Sing all the time, even making random funny songs from well known tunes like Weird Al. I am happiest when I am making music.
Music is my connection to the world, I am a socially anxious person so I stay home all day, and I listen to music to get my emotions out, and if I'm listening to music in certain situations, I'll remember what happened better. I use music to connect my thoughts to other people and cope with the ever changing world around me. Music is literally all my life.
Music is going to be a bit different for everyone. It’s important to explore music and engage yourself in the medium. Music is the easiest way to connect with people and the more you know about music and the more you enjoy it the more you will be able to interact and know people on a deeper level.
For me it helps my focus, in a white noise kinda way. But as for an emotional type of meaning not much. I've always been awful at understanding what singers say in songs, so I mainly listen to the actual instruments.
Music is one of the few things keeping me alive. Music isn't always self expression but it can also be the strongest form of it. Some songs have someone's soul put into it, and others you pour your emotions in while listening. But you can't convince me that every song reflects a person's sense of self.
If feelings are like visitors, they come and go, then music is like a large train. Inside it, are many little passengers, popping their heads through the windows and waving as they pass through the jungle of your mind. In front is the locomotive, the drummer, fatherly weaving the magic into your soul with passionately brute gasps of determined love. Inside the train, the people breathe their instruments.

When I play my guitar or when I play golf, I lose track of time. This concept of time is somewhat arbitrary, is it not? Here I practice and play music using a metronome and perform on stage with a drummer, who keeps time; and yet, while pursuing activities such as music, I lose track of conventional time as defined in minutes and seconds. How can that be? How can you lose track of time while simultaneously keeping track of time, so that the music sounds good and is performed correctly. Isn't this ambiguous?

It's as though time only exists as a human construct and has no real significance except that which we (humans) impose upon it. However, attempt to perform music without time and it quickly loses its rhythm and meter while the melody and harmony drift further away from each other until chaos and dissonance increase in direct proportion to the melody and harmony becoming disordered, rambling and incoherent.

Mirella Dominguez: Mirella selbst hört nur wenig Weihnachtsmusik, doch Eliana ist sehr für das große Weihnachtliche Spektakel mit all den Festen und der Deko und natürlich der Musik zu begeistert und so bekommt Mirella auch sehr viel mit. Und wenn Eliana sich an all diesen Dingen erfreut, dann wird es Mirella auch machen. Eigentlich ist sie kein sehr großer Fan von dieser Musik, erträgt sie Eliana zur Liebe jedoch und hat mittlerweile eine kleine Hassliebe zu "Little Drummer Boy" aufgebaut.
Kenna Huxley: Früher war Kenna überhaupt kein Fan von Weihnachten, sie hat die Festlichkeiten bei ihr zu Hause gehasst, diese Scheinlächeln, dieses heuchlerisch, fürsorgliche und diesen Etepetete Scheiß. Doch der Zirkus hat ihr Weihnachten und die Liebe und Wärme näher gebracht, diese richtige Familie und die Freunde und jetzt liebt sie Weihnachten, auch wenn es immer nur ein kleines Fest ist. Sie sitzten alle zusammen um ein Feuer, sind beisammen, tauschen kleine Geschenke aus - und sie singen. Dank dem Zirkus liebt Kenna jetzt Weihnachtslieder und freut sich schon jedes mal wieder auf die Weihnachtszeit, wenn es wieder daran geht, Weihnachtslieder zu hören und zu singen, zusammen mit den Menschen, die ihr am wichitgsten sind.
Artemis Levena Hall: Bei Artemis ist es genau andersherum: Früher liebte sie Weihnachten, es gab für sie nichts schöneres, als Weihnachten zu feiern, mit ihrer Familie und allen die sie liebt. Auch Weihnachtslieder hatten für sie eine ganz besonderes Bedeutung, denn in der Weihnachtszeit haben sie und ihr Bruder sich immer zusammen gesetzt und ihre Freunde und Familie mit ihren Gitarren und Stimmen unterhalten. Sie waren quasi die Boten der Weihnachtszeit. Doch das änderte sich, nachdem Artemis Bruder verstarb und Weihnachten für Artemis nicht mehr die gleiche Bedeutung hatte. Sie hasst die Weihnachtsmusik mittlerweile, die Kälte ist ihr viel zu unangenehm und mittlerweile leidet sie auch viel mehr als sonst unter ihren Winter-Depressionen, die sie Jahr für Jahr mit der Schönheit und der Vorfreude auf Weihnachten niederringen konnte. Weihnachten ist für sie ein ganz empfindliches Thema, da Apollo auch um diese Zeit verstarb.
Ylvie Nygård: Grundsätzlich hält Ylvie nur sehr wenig von diesen christlichen Festen, weswegen Weihnachten für sie auch nicht sooo besonders ist, dennoch mag sie die bunten Lichter, die bei ihr zu Hause immer aufgehangen werden und auch die Familienessen findet sie recht angenehm, da sie dort ihren Bruder wiedersehen kann. Von Weihnachtsmusik hört sie jedoch nur wenig, sie hört eventuell mal ein "Jinglebells" doch das wars auch schon.
Aletta Seymoure: Weihnachten hat für das junge Mädchen eine sehr große Bedeutung, da sie ein absolut familienverbundener Mensch ist. Am Weihnachtsabend ist sie immer mit ihrer Mutter am kochen und sonst ist sie immer bei ihrer Familie, singt, backt Plätzlich und Dekoriert alles weihnachtlich wie eine kleine Elfe. Sie freut sich immer ihre PlaylistS! auszupacken.

👉🏼 Ah, the mid-1980s. I was waiting for an end to mullet cuts, bodywarmer fashion and Fila/Kappa brand snobbery among the trendier kids at school.
👉🏼 More existentially it was a strange time I think. I wanted to do something with music but didn’t know what - I was in a band at school called Indigo Sunset and we played Deep Purple and Pink Floyd covers very loudly but otherwise in a very average kind of way. (Incidentally we had a drummer called Pete, and I assumed he was the lead singer’s mate as he wasn’t from our school. But years later I bumped into the singer in a pub and he asked after Pete, and I said I never knew him - “I thought he was your mate!” Turns out neither of us knew the guy or how he’d managed to infiltrate the band. 🤷‍♀️
👉🏼 Anyway, I’m digressing again. Yeah I wanted to be a writer but wasn’t good enough or mature enough to get published, I wanted to be a musician but didn’t really know how to go about it, my grades were average and I didn’t know what job I wanted to or could do when I left school (I left at 16). It was all a bit weird, a bit scary, and I was trundling along under the impression that, as my Art teacher explained to me on front of the class I was “just Mr Average”. In fact the Head of the Art Department’s comment on my work was “a perforated pile of puke” which I explained to him was a good example of alliteration but otherwise meaningless, then I shouted at him for slagging off my hard work, and at the end I got a cheer and a round of applause from the class.
👉🏼 Anyway, I’m digressing. So yeah, it was an icky kind of time between childhood security and an uncertain future where there were loads of things I was interested in doing but didn’t really feel confident or capable of doing any of them.
👉🏼 I was waiting for true confidence in myself, and the maturity to action things, though I didn’t know it at the time, as I was very extroverted then. I “didn’t know what I didn’t know” as they say when one is not aware of what one has yet to learn, thus you can’t seek it out.

Sei un essere crudele e infame, ADDOSSARE TALI RESPONSABILITÀ AD UNA DONZELLA, VERGOGNATI!
Sei solo fortunato perché sono buona e apprezzo i tuoi apprezzamenti, quindi eseguirò placidamente.
I film sul generis che per me meriterebbero sono più di un paio in realtà, anche tra i titoli che ho scartato a visione ultimata. Comunque cercherò di non scordnarne nessuno, vediamo..:
-Eraserhead, la mente che cancella (prima drogati e forse così non ne resterai turbato).
-Totò che visse due volte (non l'ho capito per via delle numerose citazioni bibliche, ma è talmente fuori di testa che vale la pena guardarlo).
-Martyrs (no comment, semplicemente splendido)
-Á l'interiéur (altro filmone francese da vedere).
-Cat sick bleus (a parte il fatto che mi sono commossa alla fine è veramente malato, con tanto di citazioni cinematografiche anche al primo titolo di questa lista).
-When Black Birds Fly (ti è avanzata la droga di "Eraserhead"? Perfetto).
-Where Dead Go to Die (ti conviene conservarne altra per quest'altro delirio dello stesso pazzo appena citato).
-Black Metal Veins (è un documentario, ma ti basti sapere che il regista si chiana Lucifer Valentine per capire a cosa ti sto mandando incontro).
-Ex Drummer (dovrei rivederlo e capirlo, ma va beh, te lo consiglio ugualmente).
-Pink Flamingos (accidenti, avrai finito la droga a questo punto! Vai e prendine altra, presto!).
-The Life and Dead of a P.orno Gang (puntino aggiunto da me, ma ho poco da dire oltre a Serbia💗).
-La Pianista (il ritmo è molto lento, in pieno stile Haneke, infatti personalmente mi ha leggermente annoiata, ma rimane comunque un capolavoro di regia e recitazione).
-Tokyo Gore Police (Dio benedica il Sol Levante).
-Nynphomaniac (tanto amore a William Defoe, sempre).
-The Human Centipede (è una triologia dove si passa dal normale, al grottesco al trash con un unico filo, anzi, intestino conduttore).
-Taxidermia (non l'ho apprezzato così tanto, ma penso valga comunque la pena inserirlo nella lista).

Sul momento non mi vengono in mente altri film, ma su YT troverai Shivaproduzioni e Andrea, tra monografie e recensioni, non solo diventerà fonte inesauribile di consigli cinematografici, ma pure un amore platonico tra i più grandi che si possano avere. Inoltre Horror Pills offre una lista pressoché infinita di titoli, ma ahimè (sigh) non lo streming.
