Ich habe meine Zweifel, dass ich in meinem Leben jemals wieder irgendwohin reisen kann. Höchstens aus Not wegen Krieg oder Armut, kann ich mir vorstellen. Ich habe seit elf Jahren das Land nicht verlassen, weil ich relativ arm bin und gleichzeitig diese Wochenausflüge mit Flugzeug und Hotel als ziemlich krank angesichts der Umweltkatastrophe betrachte.

Und jetzt bin ich seit fünf Monaten krank. Wenn ich wieder gesund werde, falls das je passiert, dann würde ich gern noch reisen. Ich bin da nicht so. Klar, Japan interessiert mich, vor allem Hokkaido. Und die Natur vieler vieler Orte.

Aber da ging es mir nie um ein Ziel, nur um die Reise selbst. Also gar kein Bedarf, irgendwo anzukommen, und große Sehenswürdigkeiten sind mir sowieso relativ gleichgültig. Gibt mir nix, irgendwie ein "historisches Gebäude" oder so zu sehen. Auch in Paris wär mir der Eiffelturm vollkommen egal und die Chancen stünden nicht schlecht, dass ich ihn nicht mal aufsuchen würde.

Ich verlaufe mich lieber, suche nach coolen kleinen Events, und schaue mir so die ruhigen Nachbarschaften an, wo nix los ist, es laut Leuten "nix zu sehen gibt" (aber gibt es ja doch überall, wo es Leben gibt). Wo ein erschöpfter Arbeiter draußen eine raucht, dich eine alte Katze irritiert anstarrt und du es bereust, kein Essen mitgenommen zu haben, weil nirgends ein Restaurant zu finden ist. Solche Orte mag ich in Städten. Und sonst sowieso eher die Natur, kleine Siedlungen und auch gar keine Siedlungen. Einfach reisen. Irgendwelche tollen Orte abhaken hat mich noch nie interessiert.

Selbst Nirgendshausen in irgendeinem Land, über das ich noch nie nachgedacht habe, hat eine ewiglange Geschichte, hat dort Menschen und Tiere, die dort seit Generationen das Umfeld beeinflussen, dort leben und sterben. Und ich liebe das Leben. Dazu muss ich nicht die Pyramiden sehen.

Ich glaube, solche Orte würde ich theoretisch auch gern sehen, aber der Tourismus macht es mir immer kaputt. Tausende Leute, die darum stehen und Fotos machen, und das Wissen, die dekadent diese Leute reisen und wie respektlos. Ich bin kein Misanthrop. Aber ich komme auf riesige Menschenansammlungen nicht klar und irgendwas an dem Vibe von so Tourismussammelstellen geht mir gar nicht gut rein. Wenn es weniger Menschen gäbe, dann würde ich sofort zu solchen Orten wollen. Aber jetzt denke ich mir, dass diese Orte eh schon genug Touristen haben. Ich freue mich daher einfach über die kleinen übersehenen Sterne, die in keiner Konstellation stehen.

Ooh, now that's a tough one! I'm fortunate to have traveled a fair amount during the thirty years I've been alive so far, and I have made some pretty fantastic memories during my trips...

The first that comes to mind though, was from my recent-ish trip to Japan. On the second-to-last night of our trip, my two friends and I decided to go and do karaoke. Bear in mind, by this point in the trip we were exhausted, having spent the past few days traveling from Tokyo to Kyoto and back again.

We planned to stay out until about 2 AM, maybe 3 AM at a push. We'd made plans to visit TeamLab Planets the next day so we wanted to get at least some sleep... Yeah, that didn't end up happening. The wine started flowing, the tunes started playing, and we just got so caught up in the fun of it all that we ended up staying out 'til just before six!

Did we regret it the next morning when our alarm woke us up at nine and we had to face the day ahead running on less than three hours of sleep? Mmm, yeah, maybe a little bit! 🤣 Despite the lack of sleep, it was still a fantastic night, full of so much laughter. But the moment that sticks out most in my memory is of the walk back to my friend's apartment...

It was so quiet, the sun was just starting to come up, and as I strolled down the streets of Tokyo with two of my oldest and closest friends by my side, I remember this feeling of immense gratitude washing over me. How lucky I was, to be spending time in such an exciting city, making memories with such amazing people. 💕

Last summer, my fiance and I travelled overseas together for the first time. We've travelled together as a couple before, but never out of the country and whenever we did go abroad, it was always with other people (our families, a group of friends, etc.)

But I'd always wanted to go back to France for my thirtieth birthday. The last time I was there was for my twentieth, way back in 2013, and it felt only fitting that the exciting and tumultuous chapter of my life that was "my twenties" should close in the same place it began. Maybe it's the writer in me, but I have always been fascinated by the idea of things coming full circle.

We planned the whole trip from start to finish. We booked the flights, the accommodation, the rental car, we planned the days out, everything. Would it have been easier if we went all-inclusive, or had someone else plan it for us? I mean, yeah, sure. But I in particular wanted to have the experience of planning a holiday by myself, 'specially since I was gonna be travelling to Japan later that year.

Anywho, things went relatively smoothly! The only drama we encountered was due to something out of our control. Ie. one of our flights being delayed on the way home and us just baaaarely making our connection. 😅✈️

The last big trip I went on was in October, I went to Japan! I was traveling with one of my close friends and we wound up meeting with another friend who lives out there.

It was one of the most fun trips I've ever had, but it was also rather tiring! We didn't have a great deal of time on our hands (we were only out there for a little over a week) so we did our best to squeeze as much as possible during that short span of time and, well, I think by the end of it we realized we'd pushed ourselves a lil too far... The post-trip exhaustion once I got home was B R U T A L.

I have zero regrets though. It was still a fantastic trip. I got to see so many cool things and made memories that will last a life time. I'm never going to forget seeing the view from tokyo skytree for the first time, or feeding the deer at Nara, or walking back to my friend's apartment at 5:30 AM after spending the whole night at karaoke... And those were just a handful of amazing moments we got to share.

¿Comida? Solo cuando me da el enorme antojo, cosa que no siempre la tendré, pero diría que hay momentos que me da por pedir sushi, pero no cualquier local, ya tengo mi lugar favorito siendo en Sarku Japan quedé maravillada con este y todo gracias a mi mejor amigo de la infancia que me lo ha recomendado, ahí tengo el número para me da ganas hacer un pedido, no me arrepiento de haberlo de sus platillos. Yo digo que el sushi es una delicia total, yummy. Como hay de otros días en los que pido patatas fritas y pero en este tienen menú enorme en que puedes añadir lo que quieres y a un buen precio, simplemente me encanta. Y por último está pizza del local Domino's Pizza, también este lo considero mi preferido, no me puedo a resistir a ella, es un completo manjar de los verdaderos dioses. Y ahora en decir de los que más pido solo dos siendo la de crocante pepperoni y la de deliciosa barbacoa.

Psscht, eigentlich wollte ich das Ganze auch pünktlich zum Saisonstart hochladen, aber das Leben hatte andere Pläne. :D Naja, jetzt arbeite ich zumindest auf Hochtouren. (vielleicht passend zu japan? china? 👀)

Also, ich will da mit der Story ganz ehrlich gar nicht zuuu kompliziert werden. :D Wir haben ✨️ 2024 ✨️ in einem Paralleluniversum in dem ein Fahrer die letzten Jahre alles dominiert hat, alles ist langweilig, aber diese Season gibt es Regeländerungen! Neue Fahrer! Teamwechsel! Und ich suche...naja, Fahrer! Frische Rookies oder alteingesessene Rennsieger, solange die auf der Strecke und ganz besonders hinten den Kulissen (denn hey, ich mach DTS zwar nicht so gerne, aber es wird doch auch viel um Off-Track-Drama gehen) Konliktpotential bieten und interessant sind nehm' ich sie. :'D Und wenn wir im echten Leben keine unerwarteten Rennergebnise kriegen, dann mache ich das halt! (Off-Track-Drama haben wir ja. Ich krieg' immer mehr das Gefühl da niemals mithalten zu können. Aber...will ich das überhaupt?)

Noch'n kleines Ding, zu den Gesuchten: alles geht, aber ich selbst stelle auch drei (einhalb) Fahrer mit sehr viel Konfliktpotential und einem freien Platz neben sich im Team (Ono und Seneviratne sind zwei davon, Drama Queens vom Dienst sozusagen), so als Orientierungshilfe? Das mit der Teamverteilung bei mehreren Kandidaten muss ich mir noch überlegen, falls das überhaupt ein Problem werden sollte, deshalb dauert's auch noch'n bisschen. :D

Tatsächlich war der ursprüngliche Grund eher praktischer Natur. 😅 Ich wollte die Selwyn Family möglichst klein halten und deswegen außer Simeon und Delphina kein zweites Großeltern Pärchen. Auroras Familie hat den zweiten Zaubererkrieg nicht überlebt. Und ganz zu Beginn sollte Rufus' Frau aus Frankreich stammen, das war mir dann aber zu "nah" und irgendwie zu langweilig, also habe ich an die Zauberschulen der Wizwarding World gedacht und bei Mahoutokoro hat es dann "klick" gemacht.

Meine liebe Yuki ist etwas im Zwiespalt, denn als sie in Japan gelebt habt, wollte sie immer von dort weg, weil es ihr zu konservativ war. Aber als sie dann in London war, wäre sie am liebsten wieder zurück nach Tokio, weil es ihre Heimat ist. Ihr ist es wichtig, ihren Kindern die japanische Kultur zu vermitteln - ein großes Ding ist da die Arbeitsmoral, die sie von den Kindern erwartet (auch wenn sie lange nicht so streng ist, wie ihre eigenen Eltern). Die Kinder sind auch zweisprachig aufgewachsen, aber ich kann mir vorstellen, dass das Japanisch der Sprösslinge ab Hogwarts immer schlechter wurde und dass zu Hause mittlerweile weitgehend Englisch geredet wird. Man merkt es aber auch an kleinen Sachen, zB gab es zu Hause (fast) nur japanisches Essen, weil Yuki kein großer Fan der westlichen Küche ist. Auch waren sie im Sommer (zumindest jedes zweite Jahr) bei der japanischen Familie.
