I've long said that I have nothing against a good dub. There have been a few. I thought the Cowboy Bebop dub was great, and The Big O, too. The Patlabor dub was pretty good. I'll even admit to having a soft spot for the 90s DIC Sailor Moon dub. But most dubs range from bad to awful, so on balance I'll stick with subs most of the time.

As for the common person, well, of course there's the fact that most common people believe whatever the television tells them to.
