The thing that WNs consistently miss is the sad reality that you can't save suicidal people. They call what's happening an invasion by hostile outsiders, but that's not actually what's going on. I have a couple of blog posts that I swore on all things good and holy I'd get written before I did anything else. One is a blog post I promised The Bechtloff that I'd write about the death of the shopping mall, and the other is one I promised MillennialWoes I'd write on the real significance of Playboy's decision to stop publishing nudes. In a way, the two are connected by a common thread - the idea that the future has turned out to be a lot less futuristic than everybody thought it was going to be. Hopefully it won't take me too long to get those out the door - I'm not planning for either to be much bigger than about 1500 words each (and I'll probably donate one or both to Social Matter if they decide they like them).
