What's the most interesting place you've ever visited, and what made it memorable for you?

zaidwali915’s Profile PhotoZaid Wali
There's this piece of land my grandfather owned. It's near a canal of fresh water. It's quite a great scenery and away from population so there's complete privacy for me my my hijabi squad. We often go there to enjoy the beauty of nature and our own selves.

Hi Yentl. My great grandfather is very sad 'cause he will turn 96 tomorrow. He is very lucid like you, so he knows and thinks that he has very little left 2 live and he says it so often. He is like someone who was told u av cancer and u av 1 year left. What 2 tell him? How to "calm him down" ?

To be fair you probably can’t calm him down because he knows there is an end to his book. This can be a very frightening feeling. The only thing you can do is help him accept the situation by accepting his emotions, frustrations, etc.

Hi there! Oh gosh, I’m so sorry that your great grandfather is so upset (and I’m wishing him a very happy birthday for tomorrow!).
It’s a difficult situation and is very delicate I’m sure, but I suppose I would try to encourage him to find the joys in everyday, to not think of time on such a grand scale. To take each moment as it comes and live life to as full as he can, within his ability. I’m sure that’s probably not much help, but I hope that makes a little sense! I hope you manage to encourage and uplift him 🤗

Honey life's too short to be crying or being sad. Just enjoy life, go out, have fun, party. You're young. Enjoy your youth. This is the best time of your life

I lost my grandfather (my father figure) 3 months ago, I just lost his brother Saturday, my grandmother has stage 4 cancer and is slowly getting too weak for treatment, I'm trying to find a new house by the 14th of February, I'm dealing with the medicaid office messing with my my insurance which is messing with my disability income and now someone at the SSI office messed up my income information and I'm dealing with having to get a second opinion on my knee injury because it's gotten worse. What exactly in that do I have to smile about?

in your opinion, is it creepy for a customer to compliment your looks? for example if you work in a store, and someone comes in and while you're scanning their items they start talking about how good looking you are, would that make you feel uncomfortable?

It depends entirely on context. Like who's saying it, what exactly is being said, how is it being said. Women usually give actual compliments, usually on my makeup, tattoos or nails and it's not uncomfortable or creepy in the slightest. Men usually don't & are usually very creepy. "That's a nice a.ss", "thanks for the great view" etc etc etc followed by creepy questions like "how old are you, what's your name, do you live close, where are you from" & it's almost always guys old enough to be my grandfather.

Where have all the alarm clocks gone? Why don't people use them anymore? They were pretty.

We have a grandfather clock at my grandparents, and I was always woken up by it bonging away at 5am. It bonged away through the night as well, but for some reason it was that 5am bing-bong that got to me, haha!
At home, I've got a cute lil Lumie to wake me up with sunshine. This seemed like an excellent idea except I'm always woken up by the sun before my fake sun can do any work. Stupid waste of money 😂

Who are you with on a typical Christmas Day? 🎄 🎅 🎁 🌰 😇

I'm with my parents on Christmas Eve, I'll visit my grandfather in the hospital, and on Christmas Day I'll probably go to my grandmother.

Do you have any personal insecurities that you're trying really hard to improve on?

Yes, I have always felt insecure and almost alienated from the rest of society due to the fact that I have a 90 IQ and have always felt like six piece chicken mcnobody because of this lack of intelligence. I use to be so obsessed with the notion of wanting a high IQ to the point of where it made me very sick. I’ve improved on this because I observed my grandfather who had a high IQ. He had a lot of success in his life but was still a narcissistic abusive prick to his family, children and me. From this experience I had learned that he had the shittiest character regardless of his IQ and it made me learn that you don’t have to posses a high IQ to be a great person. Maybe to be successful but not be a good person that can be loved. Yes, I’m stuck where I am and even where I stuck myself in my life but still I guess that is something I’d have to improve on.

Say something encouraging

Massive shoutout to the men and women who have served our country and continue to serve our country.
No amount of words can express my gratitude 🙏 ✨️
I thank my grandfather, who served whom my son is named after. My great uncle Charlie and Vincent. My uncle Vince and Cielo. My sister Danica and her husband Elijah. My brother Malachi. My cousins Alfonso, Saraline, Dario, Donavan, and Keisha. THANK YOU! 🇺🇲

When do you think you developed your bipolar disorder? Is it something you were born with? Something you were genetically programmed to get at a certain age? If so, what age did it start? Or something that just randomly happened because of life circumstances?

Just because I’m diagnosed doesn’t mean I’m an expert on all things bipolar. I currently have a therapist who doesn’t even trust that diagnosis, but she wasn’t there when I received it, so I don’t really trust her word either. I know that my maternal grandfather was diagnosed with bipolar also, so it’s likely been in my genes since birth, but I didn’t have a manic episode (to my knowledge) before 2020. I did have anxiety from about puberty on, as well as depression and panic attacks during highschool and college, but the worst of my illness didn’t hit until I was in my 20s and ended up hospitalized (twice) for being in psychosis. I’m pretty sure it’s typical for the disorder to not show up until around that age, but I was by no means unaffected by it before then.

I asked a question as a joke if Adele's the artist that put UK on the map and a lot of people got offended and started listing all these ancient old bands that my grandfather used to listen to. People are just elitists and hate women, it shows.

Or people have different taste, and think that bands that were around many years ago put the UK "on the map" rather than 1 woman now. Not liking someone's music doesn't equate to hating women 😂😂😂 Hope you stretched before making that reach! 🤣🤣🤣

do you like horses ? also would you like to learn riding? I it’s my hobby so i want to know if you would like too ? 😎

I used to ride often when I was a child. And I loveeeeee horses a lot!!
My grandpa was back in the days in our city an Horse expert. Besides his work he looked after horses. If anyone had an issue with their horses or had q they went to him. I guess my love for horses comes from my beloved grandfather 🙏☺️

Do you have family members who are/were veterans? My great-grandfather was a veteran of ww2, but I never met him, he died in the early 80s, but my elders say he had lots of stories to tell and he was a bit… unbalanced… probably had PTSD like most veterans, it just wasn't a diagnosis back then.

lots. i think the most recent was my maternal grandfather, though he died when his daughter (my mother) was still young. he was quadriplegic due to a landmine incident in the vietnam war.
update: i just found a picture through the australian war memorial that is tagged with his name. considering i never knew him, and i've only glanced at one picture of him (and it was from when he was in a wheelchair), this is absolutely mind-blowing to me. this was dated roughly six months before the incident.

How do you cope with death. I just lost my mentor my best friend my grandfather a few hours ago. How do you process such a loss. I don't know what life will be like now. I don't even know why I'm typing this here. Why is life so unfair.

Firstly I am sorry for your loss buddy.Death is a grim reality that we all would go through at some point.I don't think you can process a loss like that ever.Even accepting it as the truth won't make that pain go away. That's the tragedy of life,it doesn't stop regardless of how many losses you may go through. It doesn't stop for anyone. All I can say is I hope allah eases your pain, ameen.Try to stay strong.

What are your thoughts on parents lying to their children about Santa Claus being real? Why do you think they do it? How did you find out the truth about Santa, and how did you react?

Oh wow interesting 😂
I don’t have any problems with understanding that it is no Santa 🎅 in real life
Don’t know how to explain that, but I always knew it and don’t have illusions about magical grandfather that make my wish come true

What do you think of being in water? 🏊‍♂️🌊

TobbeAsks’s Profile PhotoTobbe
I loveee being in the water! Grew up having a grandfather with an in ground swimming pool and horses. We lived 2 minutes down the road🥰👑🔥 I've also free up my daddy having a boat so we always went places every weekend or around our town boating, then it's the beaches we've been going to since I was little lol now I'm grown with a pool of my own 💃🏻🥰

Are there any interesting or spooky stories passed down in your family?

DionysusArius’s Profile PhotoMetanoia
Not really, twins run in my family which is interesting I guess, and also on the list of reasons not to breed. There's also a great great great grandfather who was apparently shot in the head, survived with the bullet still in his skull until it eventually lodged in enough to kill him.

What are some of the most visually stunning pieces of media you've experienced? Like movies, shows, video games etc.? 🤩📺🎮

TobbeAsks’s Profile PhotoTobbe
I bought a few months ago an Oculus VR glasses from Meta. There I have experiences with playing tennis 🎾 minigolf 🏌️‍♀️ or table tennis 🏓 but also with an app where you can walking in the rooms in them Anne Frank and her family lived in Amsterdam. Other special is Normal / Super 8 films from the old camera from my grandfather which I‘m digitized 📀.

With the Queen passing it has honestly got me thinking….my grandfather lived to 101 and received a letter from the Queen when he turned 100, however he ain’t the only one to have had contact with the royals. I, myself received a text message off Prince Andrew when I turned 12.

What’s your guilty pleasure?

Ahaha, I used to live on the 12th floor and the trick was to spit down and watch my slobbery grub fly down, the story was that I once again did this and hit the man right on top🤣 despite the fact that I knew who this grandfather was, he lived on the 7th floor🙈😂 well, throw off the pebbles, once with a friend we were 10 years old, we had a competition who would throw the pebbles further, well, I shot so hard that I hit a woman, it was fun for us, for her, no, she squealed, years later realized that it was a living hell again for her, but so aptly🤫🤣😈🧝‍♀️☠💫

Whats your guilty pleasure

Have you ever made preserves for the winter in your family, for example trampled cabbage to pickle or put fruit in jars, some preserves, preserves? Maybe you made some tinctures? If so, do you have a good tincture recipe?
When I lived in Poland, we pickled cucumbers, we made fruit compotes, it happened that my grandfather made cherry liqueurs. He would buy cherries, put the washed cherries in a jar, sprinkle them with sugar and pour alcohol over them. Because cherries have a lot of juice in them, he did not add water, but after half a year of making the tincture, the product was quite strong and delicious

When was the last time someone slipped something under your door (like a note)? What was it?

Neo_gs’s Profile PhotoNeo
Yesterday!
My grandfather slipped my mail under the door... Appaaaaarently I have to pay for some "covid test" I took back in February that's almost $130 bucks altogether, lol. Feels like a scam... I generally pay everything off when it is due.

What comes once in a minute, twice in a moment, but never in a thousand years? ✨

In English, this is the letter "M", and in Russian it is the letter "N", if you translate the riddle into Russian, I thought for a long time... 😏
А similar riddle:
She is alone in heaven, not on earth, her grandmother has two, but her grandfather does not, the ram is in front, the goat is not. What this is?

As a kid when somebody use to say I will buy this for you or tomorrow we will go somewhere my grandfather use to ask them are you actually going to do this if yes then say this to her otherwise don't promise her anything she isn't like other kids I wish I could tell him now that people still make promises that they can't keep and there is no one to tell them that I am not like others

Ever lend money to a friend and he or she didn’t even bother to pay you back? How much was it and are you still friends?

My grandfather taught me a simple lesson and it has served me well. When possible (and if merited), give what you can but with the understanding that it does not have to be paid back and that person must *never* ask for money again. By practicing this method, he never lost a friend due to money and neither have I.

How much do you attribute names to certain people? Hypothetically speaking, would you have been fine dating someone with the same name as a family member for example? 😬↔️🤷‍♂️

TobbeAsks’s Profile PhotoTobbe
Attribute names way too much.
I could never date someone who has the same name as someone in my family. It would freak me out. I would just think about them.
My ex had the same name as my grandfather & saying his name would always make me think of him. I had to give him a nickname 😂

Here's to everyone ^^ Absolutely different, I am one of those girls when I think that in a family gender roles should be divided and complement each other, and yet a man should be at the head, as nature has it, "A man is determined by deed, not by word" (c) The girl / woman, in turn, carries a colossal emotional charge, this is the basis of the family and in society, the most beautiful, dear and valuable thing in the life of a real (I'm not afraid of this word) man, I have a standard of this man - these are my dad and grandfather 😍🖤🔥
I can write/talk a lot will not be included in the post😏

Describe a movie tiltle badly e.g. lord of the rings.... 5 people go for a wander in the hills with someones ring

niallbop’s Profile PhotoThecyberneticphantom
5 children go to a place where chocolate is made..
One by one they are all killed of..
They are then sang to by a bunch of orange midgets with limited vocabulary…
One child survives the madness and is shot through a glass ceiling with his grandfather who up until recently was unable to walk…
The end.

If you could rename yourself something that isn't the name you currently have, what would you call yourself?

LouisaRHale’s Profile PhotoLou
well, it either would be:
- Feriel: I have choosen this name in my childhood as I unfortunately disliked my name at that time. I was obliging my family to call me Feriel 😂 I remember when my paternal grandfather teased me and kept calling me Rokeia, and I got angry: nooooo jeddi (gradpa), it's not Rokeia, it's Feriel 😂 Apparently it's a Persian name, that means beautiful and glorious neck.
-----------------
-Anya: I like it because it sounds elegant? fancy? it's so beautiful when pronounced. Also I like the fact that it has different meanings in different languages. In Berber, it means "rhythm" or also "melody" in other dialects.
-----------------
-Tin Hinan: it's a name of an African queen of the Sahara. Some say she was a real figure, others say she is the heroine of a legend, a myth. The name means the nomad/ the migrant. I like it because it sounds so powerful, of course it's a name of a warrior queen 🤩
