🌿 Working at the RHS Shows - both Chelsea and Hampton Court - they were both really lovely for different reasons, and there’s such good energy at the shows!

🎄 Running a Christmas show by myself for three days, which was pretty unusual as the majority traders had numerous folk on hand! It showed to me at least, that I’m good at working under pressure in a really busy environment! Aside from that, it was quite electric and upbeat in terms of atmosphere, and it was lovely to see some familiar faces and meet new people!

🐾 Codes will always be such a colossal loss as he was my best friend and it brings me peace to continue talking about him at home, but I’m also very grateful for gaining Woody this year. He’s a very mischievous but loving pup, and he’s incredibly sweet!

⛸️ ice skating with my pals from work was a riot; it was a really good team building exercise! I was happy to make a fool of myself to make the others laugh (not that I tried hard at all, since I can’t skate to save my life 😆).

💗 I’ve been slowly curating a gift box full of various trinkets and items (and other things that are a surprise!) for @nurbzee and whilst I’m incredibly sorry she’s had to wait so long, I truly hope it’ll be worth the wait! I just need to write my letter and wait for the mail strikes to end, and I’ll be sending it asap! Trekking around London finding items that I think she’ll (hopefully) like has been such a joy ✨

🙏🏻 It’s not necessarily a happy moment, but this past year I’ve really dedicated to healing and self development, and I finally feel that I’m so close to achieving my goal, of processing a lot of heaviness from my past. I know healing isn’t linear, but I’m also tonnes better compared to this time last year! It’s been unpleasant, painful and gruelling with the pain physically manifesting in my body, but finally having that inner peace will be such a blessing.

🌊 Last but not least, my family holiday to Devon. It was a much needed respite and we truly lucked out with the weather. Being by the sea is so good for the soul, and I wish I lived closer to there tbh! 🐚

Das ist für mich sehr schwierig zu beantworten, weil ich überwiegend mit Menschen aus dem Internet interagiere. Eine alltägliche und situative Dynamik im realen Leben fehlt dahingehend sehr oft und ich bin kein Mensch, der aktiv andere anspricht oder kennenlernt. Das passiert so gut wie nie. Nicht, weil vielleicht kein Interesse besteht, sondern weil mich soziale Situationen oftmals überfordern und Schwierigkeiten habe, Bekanntschaften zu vertiefen.

Die einzigen Personen, die ich - ohne sie vorher zu kennen - "angezogen" habe, waren:

- der 9 Jahre ältere Philosophie-Student von früher, der mich auf meine "ulkige" Back to the Future Uhr im Hörsaal angesprochen und der mir dann bis zur Bushaltestelle seine halbe Lebensgeschichte erzählt hatte (vermutlich bin ich ein sehr vertrauenswürdiger Mensch?). Diese Person "kenne" ich noch flüchtig. Er ist jetzt überwiegend als Photograph tätig und sehr intelligent und belesen. Er meinte ständig, er habe noch nie jemanden wie mich kennengelernt und dass er das Gefühl habe, mein Verstand sei wie eine Art "Labyrinth". Vermutlich gehöre ich zu der Kategorie Mensch, mit dem man über alles Mögliche reden kann; von Belanglosigkeiten bis hin zu eher "tiefgründigen" Dingen (Gott, ich hasse das Wort xd).

- die ältere Dame nachts am Bahnhof, die mir ein Gedicht von sich vorgetragen und mir ebenfalls viel von ihrem Leben berichtet hat, während ich etwas verschreckt und misstrauisch von ihr gewichen bin und sie daraufhin meinte, ich sei vermutlich ein sehr sensibler Mensch

- mein früherer Vorgesetzte, der in der Uni ein Seminar hatte, bei dem ich ziemlich redselig und bemüht darum war, aktiv zu sein, um meine zwei CP einzuheimsen. Nach dem Kurs hat er mir einfach ein Job-Angebot in Richtung Medizinisches Management/Unternehmensberatung zukommen lassen. Ich war selbst ein wenig erstaunt darüber, wie ich auf Menschen wirken kann, wenn ich meine Ängste und Unsicherheiten beiseite schiebe.

All diese Begegnungen sind aber nicht maßgeblich ein Beweis dafür, welche "Art" Mensch ich anziehe; es ist doch stets vom Kontext und der konkreten Situation abhängig.

Virtuell wiederum hat sich über die Jahre sehr sehr viel entwickelt, was verschiedene Charaktermerkmale und Ausprägungen anbelangt. Ich möchte nicht zwingend daran festhalten, nur "eine bestimmte Art" Mensch anzuziehen, aber häufig waren es Personen mit einem ähnlichen Humor, gleichen Interessen (Anime, Gaming, Musik ...) und übereinstimmenden Weltanschauungen. Oft waren es auch Personen, die psychisch ähnliche Vorerkrankungen wie ich haben (Anxiety, Depressionen, ED), aber darüber hinaus noch anders vorbelastet waren (DID, Narzissmus, BPD, Autismus etc.). Ich will nicht behaupten, dass ich dezidiert Anziehung auf Menschen dieser "Art" ausübe, aber ich beobachte es häufig. Vielleicht, weil ich empathisch und verständnisvoll bin, was das anbelangt. No idea.

This isn't so much a story about my current profile picture as it is a story about why I chose not to show my face on here in general.

It started off as an "experiment" of sorts. I was curious to see if the quality of inboxes I got would change if people didn't know what I looked like. In the weeks leading up to this experiment, I had become aware that a lot of folks who were inboxing me hadn't even read my answers or even my bio, and were simply contacting me based on my appearance -

Either because they found me attractive and wanted to pursue me (which, had they read my answers, they would've known I wasn't available) or because they thought I was unattractive and were determined to make sure I knew that.

I got bored of being judged solely based on my outer shell very quickly, and it was then that the thought crossed my mind: if folks are so determined to judge a book by its' cover, let's see what happens when we take that cover away. I figured that, with no photograph to judge me by, people would have to dig a little deeper and actually read what I have to say if they wanted to get to know me...

.. And wouldn't ya know it, I was right. I get fewer inboxes now, but the quality of those inboxes has improved drastically. People ask me about my interests, about things I've talked about in previous answers. Without a doubt, going "faceless" on here was the best thing I've ever done.

I want to sail, let the wind take me to the land where I was born. I want to feel the foam of the sea again and my eyes can delight the horizon of immensity. I want my ears to feel the sound of the waves again and the noise of seagulls flying over an orange sky. Throw myself on the sand while I detail the starry sky, the broken clouds and the sunbeam crossing the small spaces of a thick sky; while my pupils dilate. That my hands can feel the sand slipping through my fingers. May my palate delight that rich flavor of a coconut fallen from the bush. Feeling my feet tickle as they sink into the soft, wet sand at the shore as the wave breaks. That song when the sea picks up to create a new wave. That I lose my sight looking at that greatness, and think that there is beyond the extensive ocean.. Photograph the dolphins with my eyes when they come up to greet me. My soul cries out, it says on loudspeaker... Go, go there, a single feeling with life and the greatness of the universe 💫

Witnessed a paranormal siting with other people. I've never heard of people ever seeing what we saw. It still scares me to this day. No it wasn't looking at us. It was a skeleton hand that appeared suddenly in a friends next door neighbors shed window. As we looked petrified, it got larger and went through the roof getting bigger the higher it went.@SledgeHammer
We were shocked and left.
I have talked to "experts" over the years and have come to the conclusion that either it had been a Native American burial or ritual site that didn't want to be disturbed or an evil entity lurking around there for some other reason. There was a rumor that the woman who lived in the house was a witch but who knows. A drowning victim was rescued.. it like being on the edge of your seat seeing it all go down. The victim flapping their arms going under. The lifeguard spotting the victim and jumping off the LG Tower and running out high stepping the shallow waves. Swimming towards the victim, as the victim gasps for air doing whatever they can to stay afloat. As the lifeguard reaches the subject... the drowning victim reaches up and grabs the lifeguard with a tight grip pulling the lifeguard in and underwater,they begin to struggle as the victim starts climbing up on the lifeguard trying to stay above the water level holding the lifeguard underwater. The struggle was quite a scene.
Took a while but the rescue was a resounding success. My friend showed me a decades old photograph appearing to show his grandfather burying a child's body.
Back in 2004 my sister played the Ouija board. I was 12 at the time. I thought demons were just in bible stories.

I never pass up the opportunity to pack my bags and go find some exciting ways to fulfill my passion for brand new experiences.
I travel to come back home. Sounds weird but after traveling and coming back home you're not really the same person as when you left. You find out new things about yourself and you see normal stuff in your regular life from a new perspective. I used to complain about mundane stuff aka "first world problems" but after seeing how life is for some people, I don't complain as much. (Im a Canadian citizen born in the Philippines). I'm really into photography and I wanna see and photograph as much of the world as I can. My girlfriend also never understood why I loved traveling so much because she just didn't get it. She would question why I would budget and save just to spend it on traveling after our bills and expenses were taken care of. I asked her where her dream vacation was and she said santorini. I took her on a trip through greece for our anniversary last year and I think she gets it now haha. She experienced new things, saw things she only saw in photos before and tried amazing foods, plus the shopping. Now we travel to at least one new country every year. You see a side of yourself you never knew before when you are in a different land. That is when you are fully who you are, dealing with strangers, dealing with circumstances you never face in your normal life. You get a sense of connection to the world and for me, it feels like I am reconnecting with a life I may have lived in the past. It almost feels like I'm traveling to find pieces of myself. It gives you thoughts and feelings that your regular life will never let you see.
I grew up dirt poor and had one family vacation (to the coast of my state). I was then a poor college student who couldn't afford to go anywhere. Going to a couple of nearby cities (~2 hours driving distance one-way) was always a treat. So I knew that as soon as I got a job after college I'd want to go places and see the world (especially since I live in a small town). On that same token, going places also makes me appreciate home more and I don't ever get that grass is greener on the other side feeling. I haven't traveled nearly as much as I have wanted because of the job I had until last year but I am working on that now. I won't be able to travel as long or as often as you all seem to here (3.6 weeks a year is what I have available to me) but I hope to do an international trip every 3-4 years. I've seen most of the US so I want to see the rest of it (need to do New England and the rest of the NE mainly). And I want to go to Canada which wouldn't be that difficult.
