What you should do, I think, is to not do anything about it, except to maybe try and let that feeling fade away in time. You see, even if your professor may possibly return your affection, I know that you know that a relationship with him would be wrong and inappropriate given the fact that you're his student. Plus, this might only become a distraction to you causing you to lose focus on what you originally came to school for, and that is to learn and get that degree.

You are allowed to divorce an abusive spouse, but divorcing an abusive parent? Not so much.
That's because in a marriage, there's a contract between spouses so it needs a legal remedy like divorce and annulment should the parties involved wish to end it. As for our parents, we have no such contract, but it doesn't mean we're forever doomed under their "care" should they happen to be abusive.
